Legend is in my Top 10 dramas for sure.


OMG, I love the fight between Mercenary Leader, Jumuchi, and DD (if DD can withstand 10 blows from ML's ax, ML will join him). So awesome.

Oh, poor Ho Gae, remembering how he and DD used to be friends. :( And now he meets grown-up DD, and seriously, Ho Tae, you messed-up woobie, you: HT: 'You should not meet me without any protection.' DD: 'Why, do you want to assassinate me?' HT: 'I'm thinking of it.'

I just love the whole convesration between them, and so much complicated history and emotions. The slashers would probably go nuts :)

GGRRRRR. This is why DD is suited to be King and HT is not. HT is all 'war, yay!' and DD is 'but we have to first make sure other neighbors don't interfere, and maybe we can manipulate the situation blah blah' Thank you for common sense. And of course the nobles are thinking it's because he isn't martial enough. Yeah. Did any of you noble counsel people cut down a whole army of assassins with only another fighter by your side? I think not.

DD can control his temper a lot better than I would. Also, I love the clothes he wears now he is King. They are gorgeous.

Sujini is drinking in the assembly room (at night, no one is there). LOL. Straight from the bottle. I love the little grin DD gets when he sees her doing that. And he dismisses the guards and waks in and asks 'are you drinking again?' and she tries to deny it and he swipes the bottle and starts drinking himself and is 'this wine is too strong' LOL :)

I love that he can read her like a book.

OMG, the scene where she yells at him to stop loving Kiha? Me=dead.

OMG, he still loves Kiha. 'If I start thinking about her, I can't stop. The hardest thing for me is that I still want to see her. I want to see and talk to her again.' Oh, you poor everything, DD, Kiha, Sujini, everyone.

The only time DD is sexier than when fighting is when he is outmaneuvering people politically. That whole plan of fighting Baekjae? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May I just say that the art design on this is amazing. AMAZING.

Oh, Ho Gae. Remembering his psycho mum. If there ever was a poster child for the famous Philip Larkin poem.

Ho Gae, if messed-up intensity were money, you'd be richer than Bill Gates.

The scene with Ho Gae and Kiha is pretty. So pretty. But Kiha is clearly beginning a slide into nothing-good-will-come-of-it land, with her 'it's easier for me to make fire now, but I can't put it out.'

Awww, Ho Gae. 'I hoped if I waited, you would call for me.'

I really like Kiha's new, softer hair.

OK, that was the weirdest look, the one DD had when he was watching Sujini rough-house with some scribes. Hah? What is it supposed to mean? OMG, I think it might mean he is beginning to notice her 'that way.'

DD is working and then the door opens and he sees a bottle thrust through and a hand beckoning him. Heee, Sujini.

'The palace is an amazing place. They have a storehouse just for wine. It's called the royal winery!' She also sees such a cellar as heaven :P Now she is trying to get him to drink some from this bottle because it can only be drunk by the King but once he had a sip, anyone can have the leftovers.

LOL, he does it! And now he is teasing it and pretending to drink it all himself LOL. Oh God, they are SO cute together.

Kiha is observing all that. Whatever, go fall back for Ho Tae and everyone will be as happy as they can with civil war and evil sorcerers running about.

Heeeee. Sujini is walking out with the jar of wine (he finally relented and threw it back to her, LOL) and he is all 'where are you going? You are going to get drunk and molest some guy.' LOL. But if she stays in your chambers, DD, it means that she would be molesting you. Heee *squee* SHIPPINESS. And she is all 'when have I ever done that?' and he just motions for her and is 'sit and drink where I can see you.' Heee, but then he says she is like his sister and her disgrace is his disgrace. OK, whatevs. I don't even mind whatever relationship they have as long as they keep having it, because they are adorable together. I love the way he grins at her joy in her jar.

Kiha sees and is jealous. Blah. BLAH. Go talk to him or don't, stop being a waffler.

'I will not fight a war I cannot win' is best. motto.

You know, DD is rather mild-mannered, but completely unbendable: much harder to control than Ho Gae.

Great, now street performers are mocking DD for being a coward and not going to war. Yay. Not (of course, he is going, but he actually has a strategy and a plan, and also will be the one fighting against crazy odds).

DD, your brain is so sexy.

Oh boy, does he look good in armor or what?

Jumuchi/DD bonding scene is made of awesome. I loled so hard.

The current lord of Gwanmi Fortress has fought on the battlefield since he was 10 (when he succeeded his father) and also apparently goes into battle wearing a full-face silver mask. I love him already. OMG, bet he is the dragon 'symbol,' that poor little kid whose dad stuck the sympol into his heart.

DD is 'sneaking' out to battle, pretending he is going on a hunt. The way he can just outbland Lord Yon is totally nifty.

I love how the Royal Guard and Jumuchi's people have to say they are ready (for battle), but with Sujini, he doesn't need words, just a look, because she always is ready to follow him.

I love how pragmatic and focused on the bigger goal DD can be. He can give the victory over Baekje to Ho Gae if that is the best thing to do. Seriously, this is beyond AWESOME. Usually kdrama heroes are either messed-up, or boyish or what not, but DD is actually very very intelligent.

Ho Gae, you are an idiot. I want to stab you in your hot but stupid face.

Kiha, stop with the stupid moping and do something. Preferably of non-evil variety.

OMG KIHA IS PREGNANT SHE IS PREGNANT OMG OMG OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG (Btw, I am all for the idea that DD is a stud and all that, but what are the odds of her getting pregnant from one night? I mean, it happens sometimes, but still...)

Kiha escaped, now evil second in command off to find her.

She is about to jump off a cliff (btw, lady, how about you try to explain yourself to DD, he might listen and undestand. OTOH if you do nothing he WILL get over you and also think you are evil).

Kiha, stop your emo fit! Why didn't he ask you if it was true? I am sorry, he believed in you much longer than I would have, under those circs. And the fact that you never bothered to explain didn't help either.

Blah blah pity party. You might not be DD's queen, but you are certainly queen of drama, Kiha.

Kiha is trying to talk herself into the belief that she was the one wronged by DD. I am not buying it but she is.

OMG, evil second in command! (Too long to type, I shall call you 'Evil Hottie'), you knew she was pregnant! And didn't tell Evil Elder who would have totally used it in some horrific fashion. And now are reminding Kiha of the baby as a way to persuade her not to jump.

Oh man, evil hottie is totally in love with her. He is telling Kiha to use DD, and use the Evil Tribe, and if she doesn't like it, to discard them all, to protect herself and the child.

Evil Hottie looks like he is so freaking out and is 'Come here, Come here, Kiha' and OK, now I am shipping him and Kiha. I am such an easy shipping hor.

!!!!! She tried jumping but got enveloped into phoenix-protective thing. And DD is having nightmares at the same time.

Kiha, you are kinda a weakling. Oh well. Your hair is pretty and all the hot evil boys love you.

You know, both Kiha and Ho Gae are alike in having a rather narrow, severly personal-above-everything world view

Poor DD still has a nightmare. Stray thought: someone's job on set that day was to apply fake sweat to Bae Yong Joon's face. How odd.

Awwww, Sujini is there, to bring him out of it, awwwww, and is all 'open your eyes.'

Jumuchi/Accountant Lady are ADORABLENESS

DD is on the ship, all in black (HOT) after the nightmare, staring out, and Sujini comes up and lends him her handkerchief. And then she asks if he dreamt of 'her' and bites her tongue because she remembers he asked her not to bring Kiha up, but he pauses a little and then says, still staring out into the distance. 'It's strange, isn't it. I can't remember her face. Or her voice.' (I am not sure if he means Kiha's or the woman in his dream, i.e. he doesn't know if it was Kiha).

OMG OMG OMGGGGGGG! He wants her to help him put the armor on. She is 'me?' And he asks her 'do you know how to do it?' and she responds that she will bring someone who does but he nods 'no' and tells her 'you do it.' EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Mmmm, you have to get really close to someone to put on their armor.

Now she is tying all the knots at the back. And now she is buckling up his knee-pads (???) and he is staring at her and she looks up at him.

THIS IS NOW OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE SCENE IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE KNOWN UNIVERSE.

OMG, she is supposed to go with the part of the force that the turtle clan will be with but he asks her 'why don't you stay?' [with the part of the force that's with him]. The following exchange follows:
DD: 'We don't know what kind of trouble you might get into. Why don't you attach yourself to my side?'
Sujini: 'Am I glue?'
DD: 'Can't you just once...say 'yes' in a sweet voice? The person in front of you...is a king.'
Sujini: Yes.
And DD grins like a kid and clears his throat.

HEH. I love them so hard it is scary.

Now he is giving her a vial and she is all 'what is this?' and he makes a 'tsk' noise so she repeats 'yes.'

I LOVE YOU OH MY OTP!

OMG OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG It's the sole memento he has of his late mother!

He tells her not to lose it and to bring it back. So OMG he is also doing it so she won't be too reckless in battle OMG.

And he asks her if she heard him and she just grins and says 'yes' a third time.

HIS BATTLE SPEECH HIS BATTLE SPEECH HIS BATTLE SPEECH. When he says something to the effect of 'no one dies. I don't need men to die for me. Live and stay by my side.' EEEE!

I have no words for the awesomeness of the battle scene.

That totally reminds me of the earlier episode when he was young and told Kiha to stay where he could always see her. Looks like someone's feeeeelings are sliding.

And Evil Hottie sure is hot. Though I don't really understand the purpose for the face coverup, because I would have thought he'd be scarred somewhere on the face, but his coverup positions change, so I can see that he's not scarred at all. So I guess the "disguise" really is just for anime effect...

Yup, they totally are. Which, considering he sees Kiha as evil, and she is a nutbag, and Sujini is straight-spoken and fun and always has his back? Makes sense. I never thought he and Kiha loved each other, just childhood dependency really, esp. on his part.

I like that he is subconsciously falling for Sujini, considering that she is fun, like you said, and is his glue in more ways than one, though I'm not sure how down I am with the fact that script makes Kiha look like a total ass in his eyes. Because as viewers, we know the truth, that she didn't do whatever, but DD doesn't know that, and I'm wondering if it's the script's way of marking the marking the transition of love that he has for Kiha to Sujini...

But the thing with Kiha and him is that he gave her plenty of chances to explain (he believed her when nobody else did), and untimately, whether she did bad thing (a) and bad thing (b) is immaterial because his general impression of her character proved to be correct, she has done some horrifying things for some pretty personally-petty-notgood reasons. I am not sure I am explaining it well, but while the details of his understanding are not right, the gist is the same.

It's sort of the same thing as to why he never bothered telling Ho Gae that he didn't order his Mother to take poison, or placed her in such a situation. He was just going to arrest her and hold HG hostage. Because would the truth really make any difference, other than futile self-justification? The fact is, DD still caused HG's mother's death.

Same thing with Kiha's true nature, really. I also love how complex they make all the characters.

Re: Sujini. She totally is. At the point where I am at (ep 15), she's been kidnapped/hotage-taken by Cheoro, the mysterious, supernatural warlord of this fortress (because even Cheoro can tell how to get to DD) and he is seriously going to go off alone, to rescue her. Because he can't keep the army there as reenforcements to their enemies are coming, and he couldn't order them to die for one woman, but he is going to go off no matter what. Alone.

ya, it's sad that Kiha is so weak-willed when it comes to love. of course, she HAS been brainwashed by Mr Creepy for most of her life, but she still had the strength throughout childhood to spend all that time with DamDuk, so you'd think ... I don't blame DD, all the evidence was against her and she never made any effort to explain what had happened. Sujini is more suited to DD anyway, he need someone with a happier, freer disposition!

hmm...well, it seems to me that the tribe wanted her to connect with HoGae and that the time she spent with DamDuk came by her sneaking out. But maybe I have to watch it again!

I think that more than anything DD feels confusion and frustration; confusion over what his role is meant to be, is it fate he become king and if so, why? and frustration with all the officials who have backed HoGae continually for all the wrong reasons!

I guess so. I think they did some dumb things, like assuming Hogae could be the ONLY Jooshin king, and pouring all their energies into him. Even as DamDuk more and more shows himself to be a candidate, they stuck to HG. Stupid!

I guess they thought HG was it and, like everyone else, considered DD a nonenity and by the time they realized that is not the case, they knew they couldn't win him over so decided to cut their losses and use HG's jooshin blood or what not for the symbols and have hg get some for them. Yeah...not the brightest plan, seeing DD was that talented, but maybe the evil black fumes sapped their brains?

I love that they actually wrote this really cerebral character, someone who is even more intelligent than he is brave, noble etc. It's rather hard to write (or act).

But HAVE YOU SEEN the Scary Lord of the Fortress's real face? He is so pretty I can cry.

Yes, and all I can say is it's a total waste to have a face that incredible cursed or under a mask!

Now, with the war and every detail well-thought-through and the world building so awesome I wish the world can see more of it. :D

Yup - it was in character for Kiha who adores a martyr complex, but it did not endear her to me.

And yeah, I think DD was jealous :)
