Heartstrings ep 7
Jul. 25th, 2011 12:54 am
Unlike a lot of the fandom, I liked eps 5 and 6. But ep 7 was the first time I truly loved the drama, where I ended the episode desperate for more, wanting the next ep in my greedy hands now now now now.
FINALLY! Shin and Gyu Won have more interaction in ep 7 than they did in the rest of the ep combined. And let's face it - that is what we are watching the drama for and Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye's insane chemistry is the selling point.
Oh, I loved that little intercut. GW has finally realized she can't have Shin and Shin, ironically, is not only bidding farewell to his father but to his crush on Ballerina.

I adored the scene. GW is so classy and full of spirit and dignity, telling Shin that she won't bother him anymore or worry over him because "I don't like you any more." And she gives her condolences over his father and leaves. Ooooh, Shin doesn't look pleased. But I love that she is neither clingy nor stalkery but has decided to move on. And that she finally sees him as he is, flaws and all, and in fact, by giving up liking him or trying to appeal to him or anything, she finally allows him to see her as she really is.

Secondary OTP alert! Though I am honestly beginning to believe they are setting them up for real. Please please.

Gyu Won has been recruited to help Shin with the classical part of his composition. And now she's decided to move on, she acts like her real self - bossy and adorable and fun. And you can totally see Shin is amused and a little smitten. They are SO CUTE.

They are practicing together! The staring!

They all go to eat, and Mr Party Pooper (who only went because she was going, heee) is all 'don't stuff self, you'll be sick', partially because he totally is a big brother and partially because someone is jealous to see the drummer feed her. Heee. It's like giving up his hopeless crush on weepy drippy ballerina allowed him to be a real boy again.

Only he's right, and she ends up puking her guts out. And who's there? Shin! Rubbing her back, getting her tissue, bringing her bag. You know, it's my fave scene so far because, speaking from personal experience, if a guy is helping you barf, you know it's true love.

Bwahahahaha don't be embarassed, GW, happens to everyone in college :)

He walks her to the bus stop and is totally angling to take her home but she's all 'nah, I am fine, don't you normally bike?' And she tells him she's not over him yet, but she'll try her best to do it as soon as possible. His face! He's clearly thinking "noooo! It doesn't have to be fast! Don't get over meeeeee!" She is so emotionally open and fearless and I think he is both shocked and really drawn to the fact that she is like that, that she doesn't play games.

Guess which adorable stalker gets on the bus, after all? I love that none of this is reviving her hopes or crush, she's just attributing it to general Shin weirdness. She's quite hard-headed when she makes her mind up, he's going to have quite an uphill climb.

Grandpa locks her up to keep her from audition because it's not traditional music, but Shin to the rescue!

She thanks him:

I looooove this scene because she performs this song which is all about letting go and finding new love and it's clearly about Shin and his face! Since she fell for him when she heard him sing, it's only fitting that he falls for her when he hears her sing. Because yeah, the boy is a goner.

I approve of pining.

I've liked this drama before in a mellow sort of way. But this is the first time I am desperate to have the next ep now now now. Because now it's both real (reminds me of my own college days) and romantic.

Date: 2011-07-25 03:10 pm (UTC)I can't believe this shot right up in my list. Episode 7 finally made up for the glacial pace of the drama. I can't wait for the next episode. I'm giddy with the thought that now it's Shin's time to pursue her. This is so much <3.
Hagrid here. :)

Date: 2011-07-26 01:29 am (UTC)I also have started to have these "red herring" thoughts about Min-hyuk and Woori. I think Hee-joo is going to end up with Ki-young. Despite what promos say.
I may not be sure how Kyu-won developed the crush. And that kinda bugs me. But I also realize that somebody catching your eye, in college, is not something you can attribute to a single moment.
College, how I miss thee. Incidentally, my college is adjacent to the College of Music in my university. I'd get a pretty soundtrip just hanging out on the benches on my building's side entrance. I should take a weekend off and walk around my old University grounds. :)

Date: 2011-07-26 01:43 am (UTC)I really hope the script won't suffer but who am I kidding, it probably will. So how are they gonna handle her exit? She's the main actress and two episodes is a huge amount of time.
