Oh My.

The Polo Game in episode 5 is my favorite drama scene ever, in any drama, Korean or otherwise. Bar None. I was screaming at my computer screen. Which was a bit embarassing.

MY GOD.

This is going into my Top 10 dramas because of ep 5 alone, even if the rest of the drama will suddenly begin to suck.

OMG OMG OMG.



Kiha shows off her abilities to Dam Deok:



LOLOLOLOL. Sujini and Dam Deok meet again, and she is all 'you left me last night in the middle of the fight, wtf?'







He is 'are you that into me, that you are following me around all the time?'





Her reaction:



Eeee, more teasing.



She is trying to get him to bet on the Blacks in the Polo game, and he asks her if she has no shame, to which she responds 'nope.'



She takes him to her Master, to further try to convince him to bet:









Ho Gae, you are fast losing cookie points with being a bastard:



But your Dad is even worse, with gigantic earrings and all:

Pomp and circumstance:



Evil Elder of Tiger Tribe is there too:

Dam Deok realizes the Yellows (Ho Gae's team) is cheating by using metal in their mallets:



Even though Ho Gae doesn't know it:





More game:



He sees Sujini leave, to tell Yellows she knows of cheating and try to get some money out of them for it:



And he follows her and saves her and confrontation with Ho Gae follows:





He tells Ho Gae he won't tell anyone, as long as he stops:



Oh, and Sujini obviously found out he is a Prince and is now pissed:



And asks him why he let Ho Gae go, and Dam Deok says he owes Ho Gae a debt and maybe this is a repayment of the interest:









LOL. She is still palling around with him, even after knowing who he is. AWWW. I love how Kiha observed them earlier (see caps right above) and was all 'I haven't seen him smile this way since he was a kid (when the thing with Ho Gae's Mom happened) but now he is smiling this way at her.' I am getting the sense that Kiha is more than platonically interested in Dam Deok, which, seeing that this is a re-creation (in some ways) of the Lord Hangwoong-Sae Ok-Kajin triangle, makes sense).



He takes her wine jar.



I really love the leader of the Black team:



Dam Deok sees how Yellows are being totally horrible and whaling on the wounded team leader (the one they caused hurt in the first place. Btw, BYJ has very expressive eyes).



And this is where I went into a pscyho hyperdrive which did not slow for the rest of the ep. Dam Deok turns to Sujini and asks 'Can you ride a horse?'





Blacks have to forfeit because two of their members are injured, and they have no spare players:



But before they do, what do we see?



'We are Deok and Sujini, replacement players for the Blacks.'



Ho Gae is a little puzzled (yes, your cheating and stabbing of Blacks didn't work, poor you). But he doesn't recognize Dam Deok right away:





And the game resumes:







*swooooon*







Hell. Blacks are winning but during one of the moves, Sujini's helmet comes off and Ho Gae recognizes her. And then he realizes the man with Sujini must be Dam Deok. And he goes berserk, trying to kill him. He unhorses him and eeeeeeee! Sujini basically bodily drags Dam Deok out of the way but not only are they both unhorsed, Dam Deok's helmet is off and so everyone can recognize him which is THE WORST POSSIBLE THING TO HAPPEN short of death.





And everyone recognizes him and I love Sujini, who is what, barely 5'? glowering at Ho Gae in the background:



And the King stops the game and calls Dam Deok:





Dam Deok says it's his fault, nobody knew, and he is the only one who should be punished:





But King throws everyone in Blacks in jail anyway (and of course there is the thing that now everybody knows Dam Deok isn't a mentally challenged weakling. Seriously, King, your plan is idiotic, but whatever)





Dam Deok pleads to take everyone's punishment instead of the others, but the King doesn't listen:





He sees people carted off, his turn next.



Sweetie, don't worry, with your mad skills you will be free from jail any time you like.

I LIKE IT WHEN HIS HAIR ARE WET. The best thing the creators did was to make him grow his hair. I want my hair to be like that. :D

Oh yes, he looks so YUMMY discheveled.

I am still totally impressed that it's his own hair, and not a wig. I mean, my hair won't grow out that nice and I am a girl.

Plus, it gave us that awesome black and white photoshoot thingy that you posted some time back.

When you do get it, you are going to love it.

I have ordered my DVDs, but I am not even waiting for them and am just watching on computer because MUST HAVE NOW.

And I even find most wuxia too slow/long/blahblah for me.

For some reason, every time Ho Gae's dad would come on screen, I couldn't help but notice how much he looks like the evil girl from Delightful Girl Choon Hyang--and how much she looked like the "evil" girl from Dawson's Creek. It was really distracting, lol. I wonder if they're father and daughter or something.

But I completely agree: the polo game was one of my favorite scenes!! ^_^

Now that you mention it, they do look alike. Freaky.

Polo Game was awesome. But now I am on ep 9 and it's seriously getting more awesome with each ep.
