FUJIKI NAOHITO.
OMG.
OMGOMGOMGOMG.

After Itoshi Kimi E, I think I have completely and unexpectedly went head-over-heels.
I mean, you guys. He is so GOOD. And not hard on the eyes, either.
Not to mention that he is in his mid-thirties, which is YAY. Plus, he is 5'11" which is also yay, and is married with a kid which is also yay, because I like my actors of the stable, non-utterly-psychotic variety :)
Here is a gigantic picspam.

In other news, Itoshi Kimi E episode 6 is the best thing ever. And I was literally whimpering at my screen. If Shunsuke didn't make it to the airport, I think I would have died.
And did I mention it's probably the most beautifully filmed jdrama I've ever seen?
Oh, how I love Shiki. I want to be like her when I grow up, except I already am a grown-up. She is kind, and fun and fearless about her feelings (which she has to be, because Shunsuke would never take the first step the way he is now), but not cloying or saintly or Mary Suish about it. And I love that she is basically the only person who can make him laugh. He enjoys himself with her.
The scene with Shunsuke photographing the last ballet performance of that child who won't be able to dance any more? Killed me.
You know, I totally need to see everything Fujiki Naohito was ever in: because he is so expressive yet so quiet at the same time. He says so much with so little. And I love Shunsuke: his innate kindness, and the way he 'behaves' even when the world is falling apart without him, and the sort of weary, despairing gentleness.
But maybe it's the way he looks at Shiki at the end of ep 6. After he read the letter she wrote him about how she loves him, and how people in Tokyo want to see him again, and how she would like to be by his side if he lets her.
It's so exactly something he needs: I think that is so necessary to him, that Shiki sees him as a 'full' and complete person: someone she falls in love with, not an object of pity or future cripple, but a man.
And it's pitch-perfect how Shiki can be both determined and not stalkery. OMG, they are so going into my fave OTPs list.
Did I mention my love for Shunsuke's Mother. I feel horrible for her. But the scene with the garden was such beauty. And when she asks Shiki (when Shiki is leaving) if she loves Shunsuke. And Shiki answers yes, after a little pause, and how Shunsuke's Mom starts shining and is 'thank you' and....eeeeeee! Because that way her boy has some hope and future.
And when he runs after her, to the airport. I seriously thought I was going to die if he was going to miss her. But he gives her that angel. And there is hugging and OMG.
Oh, there is nothing I don't like about this drama.

I found some of his songs and really like them. Maybe because they seem sequin free.

Date: 2008-01-01 08:57 pm (UTC)I think some female makeup artist enjoyed herself mightily with that first pic.
Once you finish Itoshi, you should watch him in g@me(I'd rec GalCir too, but it may be too much crack for you)
He was also the first live action Hanizawa Rui.

Date: 2008-01-01 11:32 pm (UTC)Not that I ever doubted your taste, but now, I am certainly in mad agreement.
SO AWESOME.
I don't have G@me on hand, but I do have a couple more of his dramas and will watch them ASAP.
I will probably cjeck GalCir eventually mainly because I want to see everything he's ever been in, basically.

Date: 2008-01-01 11:37 pm (UTC)You know, I haven't gone this crazy for a jdrama actor in a year!

Date: 2008-01-01 11:52 pm (UTC)Another good one with him is GTO, which is basically the precursor to Gokusen and the like. He doesn't play the lead, but I liked his character, and love the drama(which also has a chibi Ohuri Shun, and the main heroine is Big Sis in HYD)
he's the original hanazawa rui, yo.
Date: 2008-01-01 08:57 pm (UTC)But yes, hurrah for age appropriate leading men. I quite like him.
Re: he's the original hanazawa rui, yo.
Date: 2008-01-01 11:29 pm (UTC)I can so see him as Rui.
