OMG OMG, please tell me someone knows where I can find/download/buy/steal this anime.

There is an anime version of Sensual Phrase (Kaiken Phrase) and it looks soooooo good.

Most of it's available on YouTube, and the rest can be downloaded via Bittorrent. But I wouldn't recommend it -- they change a lot, a LOT of the storyline, spending half of the series investigating the "back story" behind Lucifer and leaving a very paltry number of episodes for Aine and Sakuya's relationship... and what survives of that is a G-rated version of the manga. It was produced in the early nineties, I think? Anyway, what aired on television was being marketed for the pre-teen set. Seriously, not worth it. *bitter*

However, I DO find it hilarious that the series resulted in a real-life band based on Lucifer/Auicifer (and by "based on," I mean same name, and the band members were nicknamed after the characters in the manga) which became pretty popular for a while; they've got some videos on YouTube... I think the lead (who always insisted on going by his real name, not "Sakuya") still has a career, and hopefully one where he isn't forced to wear blue contacts.

G-rated? You gotta be kidding me. The manga is so NC-17. A pity :) And that means they lose 2/3 of the storyline :P

I knoooooooooow I was so disappointed, the manga is one of my ultimate guilty pleasures and there is almost NOTHING in the anime, it's all sweetness and light and sweethearts holding hands. And they seriously spit-shined Sakuya's family history and... everything. Meh.

You mean in the anime he isn't a product of rape? Or a child whore? Ah well...that's wat normal evening timeslot does to ya. Seriously, I know they couldn't do an anime series that's as explicit and as trashily awesome as the manga, but they really could put at least a little sensual into 'Sensual Phrase' anime :D

LOL. Seriously, how creepy is it that the other band members have the names of the characters? Eeeek. But he doesn't which is...surprising. They also didn't give him a busty, optimistic, weepy gf, I see. :)
