I really don't know why it works so well for me, other than this is the closest I've seen a drama come to a really good and clever shounen anime. I laugh like a maniac when necessary, I get touched etc etc.
The Infernal Affairs parody made me laugh much too hard (notice the bizarro English subs in he original - it's another hilarious in-joke).

As did this:

Yay, brotherhood!

Ummm, they are the slashiest pair ever.

Woooo! I love you, righteous, destructive dorks!

Awww, fake Liu Bei, ILY.

Seriously, so slashy.

See? Totally fits my warped sense of humor!

Bwahahahahaha! Xiao Qiao trying to restore Zhao Yun's fighting powers. I got to say that as the eps go on, I get more and more bored by Diaochan, but my adoration for Xiao Qiao grows and grows.

Bwahahahahaha, learned doc's method of treating Zhao Yun.

Fake Liu Bei is going to cure him through the power of his guitar!

Aha! And Diaochan finally learns the truth!

Awwww. (Interesting how hey switched it from the original where it was Diaochan who was initially 'dating' Lu Bu at her father's command for intrigue purposes)

OK, and you thought your parents were bad about your high school dating? (Also, dude, wtf is with the golf club, have you been watching Bali lately or something?)

OMG, I loved this bit. How amazing is Guan Yu?

Bwahahahahahaha, Cao Cao and Xiao Qiao.
