Yash Chopra has died :(

Some of his movies (Veer-Zaara, Deewar, etc) are all-time favorites of mine.

Have a song from Veer Zaara (where Zaara is progressing with her arranged marriage, while fantasizing that she sees Veer everywhere). VZ is my most favorite Bollywood movie:

Aw man, his movies, it used to be such an event every time he released one - the man knew how to make things look good. I lost patience with that brand of Bollywood movie like a decade ago, but it's still nice to revisit it for kicks sometimes.

Same for me. His movies (especially V-Z) got me into Bollywood. And whereas I got overexposed to this kind of movie and started to prefer southern action hero style movies and independent/small films in the north, I am still grateful for the introduction I got thanks to him and for all the memories.

Yeah, I am more into South Indian cinema now but his movies are classic.

The YashRaj films produced two of my all time favorite Bollywood films, the classic Kabhi Kabhi and the 90's superhit Dilwale Dulhania Leh Jayange. Bless you, Mr. Copra.

Oh how sad! I'd just heard that Jab Tak Hai Jaan would be his last movie, but not that he'd died. Veer-Zaara is one of my favorites, too - it's so lovely.

That's terribly sad and unexpected news. So many Bollywood greats have been dying recently...

On a more positive note that's one of my favourite Bollywood songs. Yash-ji knew how to make this type of song work and stand out.

Yes, these songs are a dying breed - but when done right, so amazing.

I love, love, love his movies. His movies were my childhood. So sad to see a legend go, and that too in a year where quite a few prolific Bollywood people have passed away.Veer Zaara is such a good movie and its songs perfection. I have watched it countless times.

it was such a shock, i'm still not over feeling surprised and newly saddened by it.
augh, i L O V E this song and its magnificent picturisation; i like the film a whole whole lot but i love this one song far beyond it.

on that note, i'm reccing ishaqzaade – i need someone to talk to about it! although fair warning, some people have found certain aspects off-putting, like all the violence, but i know the mousetress enjoys dysfunction and it has such grit and such fresh acting and i loved it so much i watched it twice in a row.

Bollywood movies aren't my piece of cake. Too melodramatic and way too long but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the music and the dancing. And their women are healthy AND absolutely gorgeous.

Veer Zaara was a tad melodramatic, although I love some of the songs like crazy-- Do Pal, Tere Liye etc etc. Personally i think Dilwale Dulhaniye was the best of the lot..

it's sad news, we lost a lot of the evergreen talent this year- Rajesh Khanna, Dev Anand etc..
