Nice Guy ep 11 - this is perfection
Oct. 18th, 2012 07:34 am
I have to run (this week, between being busy at work, baby mousie's illness and Mr. Mousie recovering from being sick last week, has been pretty insane - at this rate, all proper posts will have to wait until the weekend and then you'll get ten each day. I am pretty sure I am not getting to my Faith recaps until the weekend - haven't even watched the eps properly because it takes me hours with capping etc) but I couldn't go before gushing about how amazing, emotionally perfect and oddly hopeful ep 11 of Nice Guy was.
Love love love.
Also, I am so spoiling myself for the end of Arang and the Magistrate because I want to be prepared if it ends badly.

Date: 2012-10-18 06:58 pm (UTC)I've been downloading all the Nice Guy episodes these past few days. Now that Maru seems to be on board the EG love train, I might cave in and start watching before I now what kind of ending it has.
And have you heard the - pretty solid - rumor about Joo Won's leading lady in that secret agents drama? I was relieved that KTH had signed on to do something else but I would have preferred a million times to get her than the actress they chose. I don't think I'm going to be watching this drama if this is true. She could pass for his mother at times!

Re: Joo Won's drama. I feel like an utter hypocrite, seeing that I am obsessed with Faith, where the leads have a 9/10 yr difference, but I agree with you on JW's drama utterly. The thing is, CKH looks like an ahjumma. I thought she looked too old to be comfortably paired with Ji Sung, who is someone who did his military service! Kim Hee Sun (and Kim Tae Hee) are gorgeous gorgeous women but CTH - honestly, there is no way they can pass her for roughly Joo Won's age, but that's less of an issue* than that she doesn't look dashing or femme fatale or anything an agent should be.
* I don't have a problem with JW being paired with someone significantly older if (a) they look compatible. I don't think he looks compatible with CKH, though I realize it's a subjective thing - I think Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun look gorgeous together, others disagree and (b) it's acknowledged on screen that there is an age disparity. I am fine with a hero who romances someone a decade older, it's when they pretend the heroine is the same age that I get really irritated.
I think, ultimately, I just don't find CKH appealing. Even if it wasn't Joo Won but a much older actor, like Kang Ji Hwan or similar, I'd still not be excited by her casting.

Date: 2012-10-18 08:44 pm (UTC)I love that Eun-gi's original personality makes a bit of a return here, it's really rather fantastic to watch her fight with Maru again. And his concern-rage at her made me die a little inside, but that scene with them on either side of the door...UNF. And I love all the suspense and the curveballs the drama keeps throwing out - love that Jae-shik is completely and totally amoral and only looking out for his own neck, the whole scene outside Secretary Hyun's house and Good Lawyer Joon-ha charging in to do some lawyerly intimidation (I really like him, I could legit get behind that ship if Maru is doomed by LKH). Even Maru finally moving, and Jae-gil wringing the admission out of him that he didn't move so Eun-ki could find him .....YESSSSSSSSS.
Though things do seem to happen at unnatural speeds in this drama, I wasn't expecting Eun-ki to make her comeback so soon (unless Jae-hee's big party is some time after that meeting/the day Maru moved with her? And they're engaged now? Episode 12 better tell us how.) but I love the scene and the surprise.
side note: Jae-gil and Choco aren't annoying at all! I really loved Jae-gil's scenes with Maru in the last ep and here, I think he and Choco are cuter when they're focused on Maru and Eun-ki instead of each other,
