You know how I had a resolution not to start a new drama until I got my backlog under 10 dramas? Yeah. The resolution lasted a week. And I did knock three dramas down.

But guess what? I am never going to get it down under ten. Ever. Because I just started another drama. Yup. Yoshitsune. It should be a crime to look as hot as Takki does here.

This vid sold me on it so badly. I mean, the armor! the hotness! the angst!

Btw, meganbmoore, is the girl in this MV his OTP or one of the other women in his life (his wife or childhood friend?)

Whoever she is, she is gorgeous, Crystal Liu level. Mmmmm.

Yup, that's Shikuka, his OTP. The childhood friend(who took learning her crush was in love with someone VERY well and the girls decided to be friends and watch out for each other instead of catfight, which I highly approve of) is played by Ueta Aya. I hadn't thought about it, but the actress does have the same porcelain beauty look as Crystal. I don't know her name, but she's also in a 11 ep samurai drama that's currently airing(I posted on it a few days ago.) Don't know if it's getting subbed, though.

How far into it are you?(I need to find caps of the scene in ep four where hes in the room with all the scrolls for reading icons) I want an MV of the incredibly cute kids in this drama...

Ishihara Satomi. She plays the lead in Hanayome to Papa. :) I disliked her in Yoshitsune (I was a dork and rooting for Utsubo), but adore her in Hanayome to Papa. :)

I am futilely rooting for Utsubo myself. Shizuka is ok and likable enough, but I adore Utsubo...only the inhuman would not like her...

Well, so far all Shizuka has done from your post is shack up with Yoshitsune and dance(and not the big one) I don't ship Yoshitsune/Utsubo...I just can't help rooting for her(the fact that, at least at this point in their careers, Ueto Aya is the better actress i likely influencing it)

Though, there are a LOT of people who ship Oguri Shun and Ueto Aya in virtually every form possible...largely, I think, for the Azumi movies(they've had a couple drama specials together and something else too, I think) so if they ever get a scene together, I may just start arbitrarily shipping them...

(I did this in W Juliet and it actually happened...)

I am only in mid ep 1 and so far it's quite fun. Though this has got to be the first drama I am watching/enjoying because of subject. Usually it's because of romantic angst or the lead, but here, while I adore Takki to bits, I think I'd enjoy it even if someone else was the lead. I guess I just find the story of political infighting fun...

Seriously, his Giant Helmet of Doom completely dwarfs him. And you almost can't find him in the scene where he and Oguri Shun are first decked out in armor.

Though, to be fair, the only one to not get swallowed up by their own Giant Helmet of Doom is Abe Hiroshi, and that's because he's a giant himself.

I am glad at least they are keeping helmets on. Most period things drive me bonkers because they resist putting the leads in helmets.

Oh agreed. About the helmets part. Possibly the mean part, too...

I love the Giant Helmets of Doom. They are huge, mostly practical(I want someone to grab those wings and twist, though...) and historically accurrate. They keep the hats, too. But most importantly, they give me something to mock...
