The Princess' Man - episode 5
Aug. 9th, 2011 05:04 pmI am home sick today but you know what makes everything better? A double dose of Park Shi Hoo, that's what. Subs are out for eps 5 and 6 of TPM and I have just finished ep 5. This drama is not only gorgeous and complicated, it's tremendously moving. It's on track of becoming my favorite drama of 2011.

It's a little jarring to switch from Family Honor to TPM - to go from Park Shi Hoo being an arrogant cold-blooded jerk in suits to a tormented woobie in period clothing, but because I am strong-minded, I managed :P
Sooyang appears and SR is dragged out - note SY still has no idea she's Sooyang's daughter and is freaked out of his mind as to what will happen to her. His daughter loving his enemy's son is like a punishment for Sooyang's ambition.

He begs the guards to tell him what happened to SR but they won't say, scared for their own necks. Oh, darling darling OTP.

Sooyang is a good father and loves his daughter, but not enough to sacrifice his political goals. It's pretty clear that at the end he will succeed (and let's face it, he deserves to - the current king is utterly useless) but will pay for it with loss of person he values most. Anyway, SR begs for SY's life, and Daddy promises but has no intention of keeping his word.

Sooyang confronts Crown Princess. I feel horrible for CP - she is hemmed in, a gorgeous slave, pretty much. Her weary sigh when her servant tells her they picked a groom for her and her asking 'what is the point in knowing the name' really got me.

He refuses to tell who the woman was with him to save her. AWWWW.

This kills me because his friend is so happy to see him escape with his life. I wonder how their relationship will deteriorate to the point where the friend who rejoiced so will betray him to his likely death.

She takes a look at him being released.

Oh, seriously, I love SY. He kills me.

Mmmm, sexy angst via sword-practice. I approve.

Wedding. At this point, I feel so awful for Crown Princess (and how her relationship with SR deteriorated, and how she is trapped, and how she's terrified).

Our lovers see each other again.

But he tells her he hopes they will never meet again - he's resolved to stick by his family and be a dutiful son, clearly.

Oh, and it continues ridiculously gorgeous.

As a bonus, have PSH in Family Honor, being an awesome oppa:
