Friends-list love meme
Jul. 31st, 2007 04:53 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
OK, here are the responses to friend-complimenting meme. I've covered everyone who replied, and not a few who didn't ;) If you want to be told of your awesomeness but haven't replied to the meme post yet, I'll gladly do it, in 'Friends are awesome mark 2.' Just leave your name here :)
alexandral: You sent me The Outsiders raws. That alone would mean I totally totally love you. But also your posts are throughful, your icons gorgeous, and your enthusiams are many and (happily) mainly aligned with mine. And you think Jerry Yan is hot. What's not to love? :)
aliterati: You are my littlest coz. I still remember trying to lock you in the bathroom as you were not cool enough to tag along :P And now look at you, all graduated. And someone to post-meta slash about. Heh.
alizzy: You responded to the meme request with an Aeryn icon. If that doesn't prove how awesome you are, I don't know what would. And I loved your posts on Harry Potter, and on Firefly, and the fact that you love CS Lewis, who is totally underrated and wonderful.
ameyadevi: I love your pics, and your cute icons, and the fact that you went giddy for Magicians of Love. Your posts are always unusual and fun!
autumn_yaar: I love your posts about Egyptian movies and music (and about Egypt). It's not something I'll ever see, but it looks awesome from the snippets. I love your enthusiasm and you total AWESOMENESS is uploading all those dramas to jdramas. I bet half the Taiwanese dramas there are uploaded by you!
calixa: Eeeee! All the drama fun. And you have opened to me the new and strange world of people dying by flying carpets, and convinced me to check out Hu Ge. Plus, you are just plain fun to read!
calledinvain: Maki spam. Kurosagi fic. Snarky comments and funny posts. I love your LJ: it always cheers me up.
calliopes_pen: Deliciously geeky or geekishly delicious? You decide. All I know is that your replies are always razor sharp, and that Firefly love is something there can't be too much of!
carviangli: You are willing to discuss The Outsiders with me! :) Seriously, your enthusiasm for dramas and Bollywood leaves me contagiously happy. There is always something to talk about, with you around!
catdecember: You were willing to talk F4 and Meteor Garden with me when no one else was :) Your energy and enthusiasm (and similar tastes in boys :D) make my flist a happier place than it would have been otherwise.
crumpeteer: your posts are a big reason I got into anime, for which I can't thank you enough, oh anime guru! I loved discussing Anakin with you, and your posts full of squeeful links make my day. I always check yur lj when I am away on a trip and thus can't do flists, because if I don't, I know I'll miss something good!
egelantier: This is going to sound solipcistic, but your Farscape posts remind me of me when I first discovered the show. Reading your excitement and meta always brings me back to those days and adds a little something extra to my day.
elspethsheir: Before I get to the praises, a question. I always wondered who 'Elspeth' was :) I love all the fascinating archeology articles you post. That way I can mention them in conversation and come across as knowledgeable and well-read :) Your lj always puts me in a good mood!
elvensapphire: You are so sweet and your love of musicals, and Star Wars, and everything lovely is totally wonderful!
ewanspotter: For the longest time, I thought your screenname was 'Ewans Potter' like some long lost Harry Potter relative. Yeah, I am thick. I love having on on my flist for when my rabid attacks of Dark Angel love occur, when we discussed Star Wars, and for general dozes of funny snark.
fivil: Reading your posts seriously often makes my day. Not just because you are the one other person I know who loves Fanaa as much as I do. I love the Sakshay posts, and the drama posts, and the general gleeing tone of your LJ. And the cracktastic kpop music posts amuse me. I am definitely looking forward to meeting you in NYC!
hope_fuleigh: Your Mars and Hanadan and ProDai meta can't be beat. I have tons of your posts saved in my 'memories' and go read them intermittently, just to glee retroactively. Smart AND writing about what I love? YAYNESS.
janlake83: Not only do you always respond (something an egomaniac like me craves :D) but your posts and replies are so fun and full of drama love and enthusiasm! I know when I see your name pop up, I'll be just a little happier once I finished reading your post than I was before.
katranna: Hey, why do you need to know I think you are awesome? Return my calls and I'll tell you in person :D Seriously, if it wasn't for you, I'd even not have an LJ, or a layout for said lj. You are fun to play with, and have been since we were kids.
keepaofthecheez: When I first 'met' you, I loved your Roswell stuff. Then I fell in love with your VM fic. And now, even though I haven't seen the second season of SPN yet, so don't really know the topics you discuss very well, I find your enthusiasm and love for SPN/fandom contagious. Plus, your header is HOT.
kitkat_cat: Eeeeee! There is someone else on my flist who loves Farscape and Firefly and wuxia, and (even better) is always ready to talk to me about them. You are so fun to read, and sweet to interact with, and if I have cdrama questions, you always bail me out! Thanks!
kitsune714: shall I start with the incredible Kurosagi or Tattakoi fic? Or the totally funny, delicious real life posts? (I usually skip most of those on the flist, but never yours). Then there is the little matter of you being my drama-twin tastes-wise. Or the fact that your subject lines are best things ever.
koalathebear: I really love that you have so many different enthusiasms. As someone who is also into seventeen billion different things, it's cool to see. Even if I don't know what is your particular fancy this month, I always have fun reading about it, because of the enthusiastic and clever way you write about it. And your posts about life in China=WIN.
ladysaotome: Anyone who likes Smilign Pasta, Meru Puri, Vampire Knight, and Hanadan, cannot be anything but cool. Especially when Hanadan mvs are involved. I always check to see if you've posted!
lazypadawan: because even though I ararely reply (sorry), it's a godsend to have a SW news person on my flist to keep me updated with all the newest and shiniest projects!
lenabean: First, there is the screenname. For some reason it makes me think of coffee, which is always good. And then there is the Lee Wan love and the drama squee and the total fun of metaing together! So fun!
lesbiassparrow: First of all, anyone who has a Catullus reference in their user name, wins (at what, no idea, but wins at something). Anyone who also enjoys the ginormous drama angst AND mocks it at the same time, wins even more.
meganbmoore: I don't even remember why we friended each other, but I am totally glad we did! You got me into wuxia, and got me to check out all sorts of manga I normally wouldn't have but ended up loving. You make awesome icons, and we can meta together ad nauseam or share Akito hate. I confess to going back and rereading your old posts because they are so fun!
miss_dian: Your icons. Your icons. Your icons. I love them! And I love your photos of places you've been and events you went to. And the KimuTaku love and the enthusiasm and the kindness and the Rain thing :)
muffinkath7: You like Buffy, and Roswell which shows excellent taste, and your header is the prettiest, sweetest thing ever. Sometimes I just go directly to your page just to stare at it. You also seem to be a genuinely sweet person, which is great!
plazmah: It's fun to have a fellow Bolly freak on my flist. Someone to squee with. Plus, you almost got me to check out 'Bones', and that's a feat!
prismatic_star: I love the playlists and songs you post. They enable me to find new and cool music. And I love the pretty icons, and the jeboy fun. Plus, your default icon wins at life.
queen_haq: I'd mention the shared shoe love, or the awesome Jason Dohring pics, but instead I just want to say that your Kajol icon for your fic just leaves me happily dead.
raisintorte: not only do you have the cutest icon and the neatest screenname, your posts are always so friendly and sunny.
scottishlass: I loved your Bollywood fic, I love your drama posts, and fic and icons. Plus, you wrote a Ling/Qi-Luo sexing fic, so how could I not love you? Oh, and there is the little matter of your staring
dorama_chat comm, and loving Farscape, and just being all around awesome and strong person.
smartylibrarian: because it's entirely too much fun to go watch Bollywood movies with you, or squeal over Domyouji. You rock. But you know this.
spinnerweb: Can the world have too much SRK squee? I think not! I love your posts about SRK and Bollywood, and the cool picspams and lists. And I found things about puppets which are totally neat, and I think your RL posts are sweet and lovely.
tatterpunk: I loved reading your posts about life in China, and your spot on meta about dramas almost as much as I am looking forward to hanging out with you again! Come on, who else will delight in a teenage-girl-dying-from-aids-but-falling-for-famous-composer drama with me?
umeedmerchant: Not only are you super-nice, you are the one person on my flist who likes Rushie so you are about to become my new guru! And also, there can never be too much Futurama love.
vierran45: You sent me F4 stuff. And made me a Tristan & Isolde icon. But leaving aside pure self-interest, I love that you love Bollywood and scifi and dramas (and appreciate the yumminess of Takki) and always have something neat to say about them. Plus, it's great to have someone else on my flist who watches this many dramas at once.
weissman: I find you RL posts interesting, and I really love having such an enthusiastic Helo/Sharon fan on my flist to interact with. The enthusiasm is contagious!

ecstaticglad that I checked out this page in spite of it. :D :D :Dbilliontimes a day, and I love it all so much that I have her LJ link on my Web browser so that I can check for updates every 10 minutes. Not only is a drama fanatic, but apparently a fanatic of everything else, so her literary/geeky/nerdy posts always fills me with glee. Am especially in love with book-talks. It makes reminds me of my English majoring days and eeeeeeeeee.(That was re: Little Women and Mansfield Park. I am forever embittered by the non-Laurie/Jo. She chose an OLD MAN over TEDDY. TEDDY > OLD MAN any old day!!!!!!!)

And in this world, there will NEVER be enough Akito hate. NEVER! I would have an icon devoted to the concept but that would mean sacrificing valuable icon space to Akito.

Date: 2007-08-01 10:57 am (UTC)I found you just randomly searching around, and I remember it was that long Shin meta that I stumbled upon. :) I'm not very interesting or lively on Livejournal, but I do enjoy reading. And your LJ is just a wonderful oasis when I need a break from the so-called "Real Life."
Thanks, always, for sharing.

Date: 2007-08-01 03:03 pm (UTC)I think I've told you before but I stumbled across you while doing a google search for Pride & your raving post just suckered me in. I searched your tags for everything I'd already seen to read your opinions (like Kurosagi), anything I'd been debating watching to see what you had thought (like Hanadan, believe it or not - soooo glad your live blogs convinced me to watch it) & now my watch list is 95% your fault. I check your blog a dozen times a day just knowing I'm going to find something that will make me laugh in the mutual love of so many dramas.

Date: 2007-08-01 04:47 pm (UTC)seriously though, it was reading your posts that finally prompted me to get my own LJ account! and it was your posts that finally made me watch meteor garden after refusing to for years! and also, i will always be grateful for your posts on Mars...all the raving from friends and family did nothing, but your posts made me crack!
now, all i need is to convert the ladies over to the charms of optimus prime and my life will be complete!

Date: 2007-08-02 07:49 am (UTC)seriously though, you are one of my best lj friends. your entries are ALWAYS amusing, i look forward to reading them. we share a lot of the same interests (hello asian dramas and bollywood!! ^^) so.. i always get a kick out of what you write. you are just interesting all around, actually. xD
plus, you were the one who intro'd me to the love that asian dramas are so.. you kinda just get my love forever. ♥♥♥
and hey, maybe you'll go to egypt to visit one day, turn on the tv, and a movie i talked about pops up there LOL. xD
