K.O. 3an Guo - eps 30-32 picspam

I am so obsessed with this drama, it's not even funny. I get that only about two people on my flist care about it, but I can't help it, I am addicted. It's such a perfect mix of campy, outrageously hilarious moments and real, heart-tugging scenes of friendship and shipping. Plus, hot people kicking things.
Meet the real Liu Bei, otherwise known as 'total psycho.' Here he is after showing Xiu into a well and dropping a rock on his head to kill him.

It didn't work.

Xiu has to leave, to let real Liu Bei take over (see previous posts for more details and angsty Xiu/Shang Xiang shippiness related to same) and he says farewell to all his (unknowing) brothers, but it's his scene with Guan Yu that got me most, in part because Guan Yu is my favorite character, tied with Xiu, so two faves! But in part because GY's validation is the most important one out of all the brothers - he's the moral compass and the center of them all, really, and is very uncompromising on honor (a bit too much so). So GY telling Xiu that he doesn't care if Xiu is real LB or fake LB, he is still his older brother, is so very huge.

Oh, desperate darlings. They so break my heart. He can't tell her he is fake and leaving but he can't help but clutch her for dear life, and she can sense something is wrong. In some ways, they are a lot more of an 'everyday' OTP than Guan Yu/Diao Chan, but ultimately, they are even more star-crossed because they are from different dimensions and I cannot see any possibility where he'd be allowed to stay in Silver Dimension forever (best outcome because he'd have her and his brothers) or she can go to the Iron one.

Saying farewells to Zhang Fei, the only one who knows the truth.

He gets to stay after all! Long story, see previous posts. The bros don't know what is going on but happy to see him to his old self.

The demon inside GY (he doesn't know about it, yet) is making him almost lash out at Diao Chan before he catches himself - pure reflex as it felt someone snuck on him. And he's horrified but she is her own awesome self. She doesn't have the fierce intelligence of Shang Xiang or mischief of Xiao Qiao, but I do love her for her shiny steadiness. It took GY jumping through hoops of fire to win her, but once he did, she is his no matter what. He is such a good person, he deserves someone like that. Plus, their moral compasses match.

Not good, they are in battle and he went demonic and even hurt Huang Zhong who got in the way.

Surrounded by Dong Zhuo's minions while protecting Huang Zhong mom. And then captured. I loved this scene. I also love how minions want to humiliate HZ's mom but can't do it (and GY voluneered to kneel instead. OMG ILY, Guan Yu).

Captured for execution:

Our firs glimpse of Yuan Shao, Shang Xiang's official betrothed, and I want to drown him already. Also, genius, by ordering everyone offed except for SX, you are being the biggest idiot in the Universe. Go ahead, have Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao offed and watch how Sun Ce and Zhu Yu bring hell on your head for killing the ladies they love. With their armies. Oh, and Cao Cao's parents might not lurve him in traditional fashion but they'd be pretty pissed their heir got offed. Seriously. Idiot.

Huang Zhong with his Mom, who turns out to be an Imperial Spy.

DC and Guan Yu. He's freaking out that he's slipping more and more, for no reason he knows, and I love how she is with him.

He found out what is going on (long story) and is trying not to go all dark. Hmmm. Lu Bu went full-blown psycho once he found out so it says a lot he isn't automatically going this way.

Seriously, can my OTP be more perfect. She takes the whole 'bf is dying and also turning into demon' pretty hardcore in-stride because a freak-out won't help him.

Then this happens.
I loled so hard at the below:

Dong Zhuo uses the demon thing to control Guan Yu and make him fight his brothers, until Xiu breaks the spell.

Oh, I loved this scene so much. Xiu found a way to make Guan Yu not die after a year, but in the process of driving a demon out, it means all his fighting ability will be gone forever, and he might actually be a cripple. And while he's deciding, all his brothers are "no, this is worse than death, how can a warrior do it, etc etc' and then Xiu says 'let's ask Diao Chan' and GY turns and sees Diao Chan standing there. I was totally crying, you guys, I am such a sap when it comes to these two.

Exorcism, KO-style:

So yes, of course, in Silver Dimension having no powers whatsoever is pretty much life-threatening, as is proven next day, when DC and GY get ambushed and he cannot do anything to protect her and is getting beaten to a pulp. Luckily, he may have no fighting powers, but he has an awesome bunch of friends who find them and come to the rescue. SX was especially badass and pragmatic. I loved her 'principles are well and good, but before they run away and tell everyone GY lost his fighting powers and everyone will come for him, if you won't shoot them in the back, Huang Zhong, I will.' And she does. And HZ actually joins in. And I love that even though he can barely stand, GY's concern is all for DC. And Zhang Fei's anger. And the cute bit of Xiao Qiao and Zhao Yun (they are my uncanon ship).

ILY, OTP!!!!

And we find out there is a possible way to fix Guan Yu's powers after all because their awesome friendship and angst moved the interdimensional messenger who broke the rules for them. Yay! Hey, I want them to have a bit of happiness before he next doomsday crisis hits.
You get a virtual chocolate for getting through this.
