You should have kept to this, woobies!

I am through 24 episodes of Chinese Paladin 3 and I have even ceased pretending I am invested or interested in anything except the secondary OTP. I've been skipping like mad to their scenes and probably missing important plot stuff but I don't care. I don't hate hero and heroine solely because they are played by Hu Ge and Yang Mi because objectively, oh boy, they are soooo annoying and immature, I want to literally smack some sense into them. Seeing that they haven't matured any in 24 eps, chances of character progress for the two of them are slim (whhyyyyyyy? Why would you get Hu Ge and Yang Mi and stick them in those roles, why????)

But anyway, each ep gets me more and more in love with the secondary OTP who are so very doomed and are enacting their own version of [livejournal.com profile] lesbiassparrow and [livejournal.com profile] calixa's drama about love that is wrong through multiple lifetimes and each time ends in more and more picturesque kind of death.

See lifetime N2.

On their second go-around, they are pretty dysfunctional and I love it. Cue angsty staring:

And really weird conversations:

And inappropriate bodily contact:

To make a long story short, he renounces his priesthood and marries her.

And they have one of the most adorable, romantic, chemistry-filled wedding nights out there (I keep laughing at the whole 'husband is a virgin this time' thing which is clearly going on but it just makes it extra cute).

Cute, huh? Well, that's basically the sole happy moment they get because she starts muttering the name of his past reincarnation in her sleep, he gets jealous, she won't explain due to issues, they have a huge fight and she leaves. And next time they see each other, she's about to be executed by rebels in her home town and he arrives to the rescue. It goes well. Really well.

Yeah, so basically he shields her with his body even though he thinks she doesn't love him and she doesn't even have time to correct him before he dies. Cheery, aren't they?

Back in present day, he's recovered his past life memories and though he tries to push her away, to nobody's surprise, they decide to make a go at it again. Man, they must be serious masochists!

They really should have stuck to this, shouldn't they?

Bonus Hu Ge because much as his character here drives me nuts, the man is fiiiiiine. Especially in the very rare serious moments.
