So, Giant

The penultimate episode of Giant aired today and I watched it raw. Not much to say, other than I feel horribly sorry for poor Seung Mo but the preview for the last ep made me squeal like a stuck pig. Because the spoilers appear to be correct only with even more drama!

Please tell me Daddy Satan wasn't stupid enough to blow up a building with Miju inside (either to get her or with her as collateral damage). Talk about signing a death warrant! If the Lee sibs won't get you (and seeing their utter lack of revenge skills, they probably won't), Min Woo is going to dismantle you into component parts himself. Whatever else goes on in that man's head, Miju is always his one unviolable number 1 priority.

This is the sound of Mousie's shipper head exploding. In glee! Thank you, drama writer! I almost forgive you the last 20+ eps of insanity (Giant = East of Eden not just in story similarities. Both started out very strong - compelling, tightly-written, with every character interesting, and in the second half took a precipitous dive in quality so by the end I only cared about my OTP. EoE has a slight edge, actually, because in Giant I only care about MW/Miju and Seungmo (and the former has been written pretty weirdly lately) but in EoE I cared about the OTP (it was the main OTP instead of Giant's secondary, but screen-time was about the same so it makes no difference), the matriarch and also, despite it all, Dong Wook, plus I loved the protagonist in EoE but by now I am really rather bored with Gang Mo). Anyway, behold the awesome!

The suicide attempt, as mentioned by the spoilers! Not sure why MW is about to do a swan dive - worry over hurt to Miju? Realization he's been manipulated by a psychopath and had his whole life wrecked? Because it's the last ep so we must have both forward momentum and super-drama? Whatever it is, I hope the spoilers are true and Miju talks him off the ledge, literally-speaking, and then they can be a happy sexy family, once he does a little jail time. Man, Miju is surrounded by jailbirds - her big bro did some serious hard time, and now the father of her child is also probably going to go away for a while. She's going to run out of tofu! (Side note - as they haven't addressed anything that is much more pressing, I severely doubt they'll have the time to deal with the fact that Miju's career might get...interesting, if the big star marries a former CEO who is going to do jail time and is the father of her secret child who's at least 10 by now! Oh man. Talk about scandal. Btw, I wonder if Wooju is one of those magical drama children who never age, like the kid in EoE).

So excited! All I want from the ending is (1) MW/Miju, hopefully getting therapy they both need and a lot of sexy makeouts. Living happily with Wooju (2) Lee sibs happy and reunited (3) Daddy Satan to get his comeuppance.

Looks like I'll get all or most of it (and even things I don't care about, like GM/Jung Yeon - I fail to see why they didn't get married 20 eps back, actually - that ship has no passion or urgency at all, IMO, but if that if what they want, I don't mind) so I shouldn't be ungrateful to the writer and stop complaining. I'll try.

But before I try, I am going to say this - it would all have been so much simpler and made so much sense if Seung Mo paid a thug to stab Daddy Satan to death in ep 10 or thereabouts. Or maybe sabotage his car. Yes, I know we'd not have a 60 ep drama then, but it would be so much better for everyone involved and make so much more sense.
