Am off to New York City for the weekend.

If anyone can rec any cool places to go for Japanese/Chinese/Indian stuff, I'd be grateful.

Also, please please please. Can I have some Rose/Doctor fic recs? Please?

Oooooh! Enjoy NYC! ^_^ (Lord knows I love it. *laughs*)
I'd just say to drop by Chinatown. There's a ton of Chinese stuff there (um, yeah. Obvious. ~_~;;) And maybe some Japanese but I only know of the store where I used to buy anime stuff there. It's called Elizabeth Center, but yeah, I don't think that's what you're looking for. *laughs*

Otherwise, have fun! ^_^

I have a tonne of fics that I could rec but after going through the bookmarks I just realise that most (if not all) of them are based post-mid-season, or have spoilers for the latter half of the season. So those might have to wait. LOL

Kenka, a little Japanese restaurant on St. Mark's Place (about a half block from Astor Place). Authentic, good, but cheap food. A cotton candy machine at the doors. Used to have lithograph pornography on the menus. Waiters who wear very tight jeans and young male chefs with Japanese boy-band hair-cuts. It is an experience that must be had.

Do you want 9/Rose or current doctor Rose?

Here's one good author (I haven't read everything especially not the most recent stuff, but what I have is good):

http://misscam.livejournal.com/221479.html

Here's her rec list:

And another author I really liked:(though these are mainly Doctor/Rose/Jack)

I went on a real binge of reading these about a year ago, so I remember more I'll let you know... :)

Japanese/Chinese/Indian stuff?

COME TO QUEENS.

The largest Chinatown is in Flushing, and because it's in Queens there are no tourists and you can buy DVDs and music from Japan/China/Korea, instead of just crappy chutzpah and illegal turtles. You can take the 7 train from Manhattan all the way to the last stop.

For Indian stuff, get off the 7 at Roosevelt Avenue/Jackson Heights. You'll know the stop because there's a billboard of Abhishek Bachchan selling Omega Watches just outside. You can get food, movies, music, pista kulfi... anything you need! The Jackson Diner has a great buffet of Indian food.

srsly if you're gonna be in Queens and you're afraid of getting lost you can give me a call. I'll email you my cell if you want.

OMG, NY.

You seem to have been to lots of places. Am jealous. Right now can barely afford rent, let alone going to fun places.

Don't forget to take PICTURES! So I can travel vicariously through you, ahahha.

Have fun!

Lets see, East 2nd street, off Second Ave in the Village, the whole street is Indian restaurants. There is a dum sum place south of Canal street about half way down on Elizabeth, you have to take an escalator up stairs (you will feel like you are in Hong Kong).

Japanese, lets see there is a place called sushi samba in the village (Not exactky sure of the address), its really good but really expensive.

Go to Jackson Heights for the best Indian food. Just remember to keep your personals at close hand; there's a bit of a stealing/robbery problem in that neighbourhood last I heard. :P
