Date: 2007-07-06 10:00 pm (UTC)I'd just say to drop by Chinatown. There's a ton of Chinese stuff there (um, yeah. Obvious. ~_~;;) And maybe some Japanese but I only know of the store where I used to buy anime stuff there. It's called Elizabeth Center, but yeah, I don't think that's what you're looking for. *laughs*
Otherwise, have fun! ^_^

Date: 2007-07-07 01:50 am (UTC)COME TO QUEENS.
The largest Chinatown is in Flushing, and because it's in Queens there are no tourists and you can buy DVDs and music from Japan/China/Korea, instead of just crappy chutzpah and illegal turtles. You can take the 7 train from Manhattan all the way to the last stop.
For Indian stuff, get off the 7 at Roosevelt Avenue/Jackson Heights. You'll know the stop because there's a billboard of Abhishek Bachchan selling Omega Watches just outside. You can get food, movies, music, pista kulfi... anything you need! The Jackson Diner has a great buffet of Indian food.
srsly if you're gonna be in Queens and you're afraid of getting lost you can give me a call. I'll email you my cell if you want.

Don't forget to take PICTURES! So I can travel vicariously through you, ahahha.
Have fun!
