Liveblogging Hana Kimi.

I said I would, so here it is. Mind you, liveblogging from youtube is haaaaaard. I have to shift screens all the time.


ETA: Hmmmm. Maki makes a nice Mizuki. Girly enough to be 'cute', boyish enough to pass muster.

ETA: WTF is with the fangirl rows? And F4 thought they had it good. I don't think even they had rows of screaming females. I clearly went to the wrong schools.

ETA: Cheerleaders? Shouldn't they be...you know...sluttier dressed? Seriously, they are groupie cheerleaders, so they should get with the program.

ETA: That's Umeda. Hmmm. Not hot enough but I like him anyway.

ETA: All the boys are excited about an American in their class. Now I know I went to the wrong school. In my (American) school, all people would ask when they'd hear an accent is 'Are you French?' as clearly France was the only other foreign country out there. Just think what a hit I could have been in a Japanese school. If I cross-dressed that is.

ETA: LOL. Maki's 'boy walk' tries to be tough but unfortunately makes her look like she is trolling a gay bar :D Does Kurosaki know what you are up to?

ETA: Nakatsu? Why are you unhot? I want Jiro!

ETA: Weird cartoon effects. Being a devotee of Taiwanese drama, I rather like them.

ETA: How sad is it that I recognize Oguri Shun's voice and get all excited and the drama shoots from 'OK, but Taiwanese one is so far much better' to 'eeeee! eeee! hormones!' in two seconds flat.

ETA: OMG. OMG. OMG. Black hair. And hotness. OMG.

ETA: I need a lie-down, please.

ETA: All of a sudden the cheerleaders begin to make sense. I feel an urge to invest in pom-poms. I'll room with you, Sano!

ETA: Cheekbones!

ETA: And he places the shoes on her head. LOL.

ETA: Credits. I like the song. But how many boys with bleached hair, cheekbones, and pouty-model looks can possibly fit into one school? Or one photo, to be exact? Clearly a lot.

ETA: Why is everyone such a rude jerk in this one? I mean, it wasn't the case in the Taiwanese adaptation and I don't think in the manga. But hey, I am not a boy, so maybe it's a guy-equivalent of 'so, what's your name? Want to grab lunch later?'

ETA: Oguri Shun has really long fingers, doesn't he? Why yes, am fixated. And he is left-handed.

Now I really am off to bed as I can't see straight any more. To be continued when am more awake. So far (10+ minutes in), I like it, but whether because of lack of subs, tiny screen, my exhaustion, or the fact that either I or the drama hadn't found the groove yet, I like the Taiwanese version better. I do think I should continue when I amnot so tired I am beginning to see pictures separate into light streaks.

This was my reaction to both Nanba and Umeda. The actors did very well with the roles, but come on...those two are arguably the prettiest men in the manga...we should lose the ability to think when they come on screen.

They were never going to have prettier actors for secondaries than for leads, but at least get pretty ones!

I've decided that I have absurdly high expectations for how attractive Nanba and Umeda be...though I haven't seen him in a action yet, which is usually the deciding factor for me, I even only think the TW Nanba is "almost" pretty enough.

Hmm...they're shoulda go Fujiki Naohito as Umeda...he's almost pretty enough...dunno about Nanba, though.

I think they're making pure fangirl drama out of this, which I'm personally VERY fine with, but my only problem is with the cheerleaders. I don't think fangirls want to see other fangirls. We just want the guys. So all that Shun hotness is A++++ but the whole point of Hana Kimi is lack of female characters, why shove some there? You're wasting good bishounen screentime, c'mon! (Unless with subs it turns out to be very parodic etc in which case I might be more cool.)

Well, they do have girls in the manga, so I don't mind. I am thinking they are trying to go for Wallflower/Ouran/Hanadan vibe which is a bit odd, as I love all three of them, but Hana Kimi is a different thing.

OMG! Just saw this and yeh....*drools over oguri shun*
I was sqeauling when he started talking and when everyone went quite so I went quiet as well.And ye RE the weird bullying.Exactly my thoughts as well. Why are they so mean...I mean in the TW drama Rui Xi just confesses that she 'likes' Quan and he just says no and everyone doesn't really give a crap.

OMG! What is with all the guys in this drama? Did some1 forget to feed them(or are they all from JE...that would explain alot)-but seriously. Most of them are hot but some of them...look scary. Seriously. Like the guy who plays Nanba(ummm you're sort of cute but you have nothing on Danson!!). Seriously, some1 feed these deprived boys.

...but then again...this is the japanese version...and it is supposed to have it's own "feel" to it(whatever that means:P)

OMG yeh, Toma Ikuta looks weird here(he looked hotter in HYD2)...but I just know he'll get better(judging by ep2 preview) but no one will replace Jiro Wang as Nakatsu/Xiu Yi

...OMG OMG!! That doctor is not gay(or hot for that matter)...unless he just goes all out to impress me there is NO WAY I will like him better than the taiwanese one...

Oguri is awesome but the rest of the boys are unhot and starved. Oh well. Oguri Shun more than compensates. The bullying is weird. It's as if they are trying to hanadan it up.

Sooo many...I wouldn't be surprised if half the extras from Hana Kimi were from HYD...lol...I am probably the only person who thought Toma was cute in HYD(mostly before he became a pyscotic maniac:P:P)...but yeh, he hasn't impressed me in Hana Kimi as of yet.
Will wait though...because I know it has to get better from here on...

Do what i do...have two screens! I attempted my first live-blog and it was an interesting experience. :)

As of last night, i take back every horrible thing i have ever said of oguri shun...still think he's stringy but he's got forearms to die for! Umeda was cool but agreeing with you on the nakatsu front. Jiro all the way! And watching him doing all the ISWAK promo stuff in Japan, all I can say is his hotness is seriously approaching epic proportions!

Was it just me or were there shades of Ouran High School Host Club and The Wallflower there? Can't wait for next week! two words! Drunken Kiisssss!!!

I adore Oguri here but so far generally, the casting is better in Taiwanese version. I like Wu Zun and Oguri about even, ditto for Ella and Maki, but Jiro is waaaaay better and so is the rest of the cast in tw drama.

There were fangirls. ...Just not as excessive as in the drama. :( Its not a big deal, but the fact that they could even get a girl was a big deal in the manga (like Sekime and Noe made such a huge deal with Nakatsu got a girlfriend). And it shows how normal they were.
