dangermousie: (Lobbyist OTP by miss-dian)

Even though I am already watching a billion dramas (Gloria, Giant, I Am Legend, Baker King, Summer Desire, LOCH2008 rewatch, Love at First Fight, Bad Love, Young Warriors of the Yang Clan, Soulmate, Gumiho Girlfriend, Men and Legends), one more just got added to the pile.

The drama is last year's kdrama Partner, starring Lee Dong Wook, Kim Hyun Joo, Honey Lee and Choi Chul Ho.

Normally I stay far far away from dramas centered around lawyers but I cannot help it here. I saw this MV and was a total goner in about ten seconds (you may have to turn the volume way up - for some reason it plays quieter on my computer than other vids).

This is the secondary OTP - from what I know through flist osmosis they were lovers but his evil family made him marry someone more suitable. But then she ended up being hired by the same firm he was working in and...things happened. I should probably be screaming 'adulterers!!!' but hey, I was always one for sexy trainwrecks. Instead of going 'how could they', I keep hoping for his wife to accidentally fall into a piranha tank (or, more humanely, divorce him for a non-cheater).

The main OTP looks pretty awesome too (an angsty playboy and a strong-willed single mother) but a lot more functional so I think I am less drawn to them (though, once again from flist osmosis, I remember there is some BIG ANGSTY SECRET (tm) why he can't be with her - something to do with her dead husband). Have a great MV:

So yes, despite normally avoiding lawyer dramas like the plague, I am about to plunge into one. The awesome cast plus two OTPs - bring it on!

And speaking of lawyers, I watched ep 5 of I Am Legend which I really like but which made me really wonder about the Korean legal system. It does not seem indicated anywhere that KJE is asking for alimony and so they are not fighting over how much she should get and there are no kids to argue custody issues about - so why the divorce is even contested in the sense that there is bitter fighting - under Korean law, could she really not get a divorce when she wants it, whatever the reason? That is bizarre. Beyond bizarre.
