This was sheer perfection.

It's gotten to the point where I am actively irritated it's Gun Wook and not Tae Sung who is the main character. Not really because of shipping (though they have many more shippy scenes than the ostensibly main couple of Gun Wook/Jae In and the chemistry between Kim Jae Wook and Han Ga In is ridiculous, compared to lack of such between Kim Nam Gil and Han Ga In) but because there is a much bigger problem - a problem with the entire drama in fact - it's that the character of Gun Wook, the protagonist, is the least interesting of the bunch. We are supposed to root for Gun Wook to get what he wants - whether it's the girl or his vengeance but I cannot. I don't find him likeable but, more importantly, I don't find him interesting or relatable at all. A big reason for it is that he is so static - he has not changed or grown one bit (nor has there ben some revelation to put his character in a new light). Jae In of ep 11 is not Jae In of ep 1, the same is true for Taera, Tae Sung, Mone, etc. But Gun Wook - he remains exactly the same. And that is BORING. When you add in the fact that right there, next to him on screen, is Tae Sung - who is dynamic and unpredictable and sympathetic, Gun Wook just becomes even more boring by comparison. I find Gun Wook the weak link of the story and it's a problem - he is the protagonist!
Anyway, I am not watching more BG until I know how it ends but I couldn't help myself and watched a bit of ep 11 :)
