Inspired by
filmi_girl, I decided to check out the trailer for the Telugu hit Magadheera and it is so my speed:
Also, look at this adorable song:
I must watch this movie! I am reluctant to buy a DVD sight unseen so where else can I watch it? (If anywhere).
I largely lost interest in Bollywood lately - I agree with
filmi_girl that their attempts at Western-style realism aren't my thing (they sort of fall between two chairs with that one - the gigantic emotional fun of traditional masala is absent but they don't usually produce some amazing masterpiece of insight into human condition. If I want a Hollywood-type movie, I will watch a Hollywood one, not an imitation). But the few Tamil and Telugu movies I've seen I've adored. I've seen NN, Dumm Dumm Dumm, whatever the name of the original of Wanted was, and Desamuduru, my favorite of the 4 - where the world's sexiest vigilante falls in love with a trainee Buddhist nun.
Clearly I need to watch more of Tamil and Telugu flicks. Plus, their leading men have chest hair! I have nothing against a Bollywood shaved chest but not when it's on a ginormous screen and I can see chest stubble left over from shaving. Ugh.
In conclusion, my newfound interest in Southie movies is purely intellectual:

Now if you'll excuse me I am off to watch Arya with him as the romantic lead.
Just look at this (v.v. spoilery) climax of it. MMMMM:
That's what I want in my Bolly movies and do not get any more.
