Finished episode 7 of Handsome Siblings.
meganbmoore, you are right, this is a very fast watch.
In part it's because I am fast-forwarding past all the non Flawless Flower (Nicholas Tse) or Iron Orchid (Fan Bing Bing) parts. They are OK, but they are not why I am watching this.
Basically, I couldn't care less about Little Fish (the eps with his upbringing flashback? The fastest watch ever, on 8x), and am not too interested in the palace intrigue.
But OMG OMG. The fights are all spectacular (they are less 'fantastical' then ROCH's and I love that. I am especially in love with the one in the dyer's house, with all the colored cloths. And OMG, every time Nicholas Tse fights. *swoon*).
And, most important of all, Flower/Orchid OTP makes it all worthwhile. Little Fish? Blah. Infighting? Blah. The OTP? Remedies it all and more.
I got to the point which made me SQUEE like a mad thing. Which is in ep 7. Flower and Orchid are talking on his balcony (and OMG, huge progress: in the beginning he wouldn't even let her into the room) and she references some myth about stars and he tells her love stories are forbidden in the Floral Palace (where he is from) and so people practice martial arts instead (no wonder he is so damn good. He is a young guy who's never even touched a woman. That's a heck of a lot of sublimation). And she asks him which he prefers and OMG OMG OMG he looks at her and doubles over in pain. Because that bitch master of his injected him with the 'love desperation pill' which would cause him huge amount of pain if he is in love. And he collapses in pain and she is freaking out, if he is OK, and he is yelling at her to leave and she tries to help so he gets brusquer and brusquer telling her to leave and she finally says 'you don't even regard me as a friend' and turns to leave and then OMG OMG he is a little desperate and blurts out the truth re: pill and her eyes go wide as she realizes it means he is in love with her!
And OMG OMG he stretches his hand out to her, for her to take it, even though he is still on the ground and he can barely move. And she asks wonderingly 'Is it worth it?' And he says 'Yes.' *dies* I am dead, people. D-E-A-D.
Meanwhile at the Casa de Evil (Floral Palace) their device is activated so they can tell he is in love and Princess (the evil scary master witch) realizes he's fallen in love and thus might escape their scary evil control and orders her flunkies to bring them both back. I foresee a lot of angst.
Did I mention that the scary evil master actually killed Flower's parents because his father dared fall in love with one of her maids even though she found father hot herself? And she took Flower as revenge to bring him up as an evil assassin so he could (unknowing) face his twin brother (who she gave to the famous and good swordsman) and thus she'd get full revenge over the kids' parents? Ugh.

Date: 2007-06-19 05:40 am (UTC)There is even more psycho squeeworthy stuff w/ Flower and Orchid later. And I love how Orchid is able to figure out what he really means when he's just so hopeless at expressing himself, instead of being like so many girls with ultrarepressed guys and misunderstanding him or flying off the wall over it.
There's some interesting stuff w/ the palace stuff later, but mostly in the context of how far the main villain goes in her ambition and audacity, considering what she started as.

I was so amused that she took time out in the middle of all the life-and-death stuff in the Floral Palace to point out that he's never told her ILY and she night die in battle with his master so she wants to hear it. Heh. You go girl.

Yuyan, right? Oh boy, she is annoying.

Date: 2007-06-19 03:57 pm (UTC)and yup, Yuyan. She is extremely annoying and is one of the biggest "You are so evil you must diediedie" villains ever, but her sheer ambition and audacity in the last quter are rather impressive.

Date: 2007-06-19 04:28 pm (UTC)BTW, a few eps into BSG...i love helo, boomer(both versions) and boomer's boyfriend, but starbuck makes me twitch every scene she's in.

Date: 2007-06-20 03:53 pm (UTC)Btw, Helo/Boomer (the one on Caprica) are totally THE otp for this show, for me.
*uses her H/B icon*

Date: 2007-06-20 04:27 pm (UTC)I'd like Baltar a lot more(and actually, the only scene where I've liked Starbuck so far is when the two of them were playing cards) if 75% of his scenes did featured a scantily clad blonde plastering himself over him. The real her is kinda cool, the one in baltar's head is annoying.
I had to stop(for a bit) after the first three episodes...it's good, but I can only get hit over the head with how dramatic and tense it is so many times without getting a migraine(subtlety is not its strong suit)
