Afer ep 9 of Taiyou No Kisetsu I decided I needed a break. I was hating Tatsuya. I love and feel very sorry for Shinji though, the object of Tatsuya's wrath. After Tatsuya ruined him and Shinji's friend tried to stab Tatsuya but Shinji wouldn't let him and got accidentally stabbed instead, but then, instead of railing, as all his friends watch in shock, he kneels to Tatsuya, bleeding, and begs him to give Yuki (Shinji's fiancee that he's loved since childhood that Tatsuya seduced) back? Yeah. I think in a lot of other dramas, he'd be the protagonist instead. Nice guy who befriends the 'villain' who seeks to ruin his life for something Shinji's family did, not him.

Basically, I loathe the protagonist about now, when you add in the fact that he treated Eiko (the heroine) abominably. Ugh.

So I decided I wanted some period fun, ergo I finally started Handsome Siblings, Chinese period drama with Nicholas Tse (I posted about it before). I am only at the opening credits but let me say that NT fighting blindfolded in the rain is the hottest thing ever.

*possibly watched the credits an extra 20 or so times because of that and the actual scene 10 or so...maybe*

Eeee, BSG!

I am almost at the end of ep 1 and while I can leave Little Fish to swim for himself, I get all fluttery every time Flawless Flower appears as HOT. Scarily hot. Plus, I never go for goofy but I like intense (Am very amused at the fact that the first few appearances of FF are in a shoujo-like flurry of petals :D)

i love little fish once hes wandering around with orchid and ff. on his own, he's not incredibly interesting.

And yeah, I really got a kick out of that...a fair number of FF's scenes are rather shojo-like.

LF does all these practical jokes and I just want him to shut up as enough already. But orchid and Flower are awesome.

the practical jokes are why i like him w/ flower and orchid, really...flower has no idea what a sense of humor is and orchid, while she's very serious, has a great appreciation for humor, and he tends to tone the practical jokes down somewhat when he's with them. On his own, though(like most of the first ep and several chunks) he just doesnt work.

He is so adorably earnest, it's squee-worthy. I guess they don't teach you human nuances in evil caves. I die of glee a little every time I remember his 'why are you staring at me?' to Orchid because so clueless...

On his own, though(like most of the first ep and several chunks) he just doesnt work.

Oh Good Lord, I just wanted to drown him at the beginning. (what is his fixation on bugs, anyway?) The good thing is, if it's just him and no FF or Orchid, I fast forward so it saves time (sort of the way I read War and Peace...I skipped all the 'war' parts unless a character I liked was involved :))

there are a couple episodes soon explaining how LF grew up that do a very good job of putting him in perspective. You kinda need a long explanation for how he ended up the way he ended up, whereas with FF, all you need is this one line of his where he said he was raised by women in a place where all the other men were kept in cages.

If he doesn't grow on you, the show won't take you an incredibly long time to watch.
