I am rather afraid to admit it but I think that I may like Pick the Stars even more than I do Chuno. *gasp* Oh, there is no doubt Chuno is a much better drama (and I do love it to bits) but Stars is just so adorable and comforting and squishy. It makes me so happy to be watching it.

In that vein, I watched the first 5 mins of ep 14 to see that it dled properly and oh my. I have no idea what Pal Kang and Kang Ha were talking about but by the time they ended and were sniffling (separately), I was sniffling along.

Also, I sincerely hope that Kang Ha's problems get solved soon because otherwise he's on the road of turning into an alcoholic - it's one thing to be belting scotch in a bar like you think someone is going to show up in 5 minutes to take your bottle away, but he's progressed to drinking in the house! When Pal Kang came in after their scene outside and saw him rooting in the kitchen cabinets for a shotglass, I wanted to tell her to take him in hand before he ruins his liver :)

See Kang Ha with Parang in ep 14 (stolen from soompi). EEEE!

I have just realized something - it kicked in after I became a mother but basically if a drama gives me a guy interacting with kids in a way I approve of, I become a total goner for the drama no matter what else is going on :)

And you know, it's official - I don't care whether other secrets come out - I don't care if Chairman ever finds out Pal Kang is his granddaughter, I don't care if Jun Ha ever finds out about the halvsie business, I don't care if Pal Kang ever finds out about Kang Ha's childhood.

BUT. If there is one thing that must come out, I want Kang Ha to find out that Pal Kang and her siblings and not biologically related to each other whatsoever. Because this should really hammer home to him that you can create a family you want - it does not have to be blood-related, ties of affection are enough (which may actually help him ignore Secondary Hag's blackmail but also show you are not bound by your blood family's past either), and also sort of make him feel less of an unworthy freak-type person - all of PK's siblings were 'thrown away' too - it's just they lucked out and met great adoptive parents and PK.

I also find it quite interesting that, IMO, it was Pal Kang turning into an unmarriageable, undesirable (in her mind) mother figure that actually directly resulted in Kang Ha falling for her. As we can see, he has parental issues by the boatload, and when he saw that Pal Kang was willing to do anything to keep her little family together (including working as a hostess!!!), and was willing to stand up for them no matter what (slapping him when he blew up at Parang for almost burning the house down, even though it was a big deal and a big mistake on Parang's part, and even though it could have resulted in her being thrown out), I think that is when he really started getting fixated on her. Because growing up with an abusive father and an abusive (and money-grubbing) mother who both treated him as a thing, nobody was ever willing to stand up for him or sacrifice anything for him - so PK's care for her siblings is like the care he's never had and he's totally drawn to it. (I seriously can't wait until he finds out they are all not blood-related.) And once he was drawn like that, he basically opened himself up to Pal kang, Parang and the rest and it was basically inevitable he turned into a pile of dorky hot mush because the guy's basically had no life at all and was also completely emotionally isolated so once the defenses came down, he was a goner.
