I am sort of obsessed with Wallflower as I have already watched ep 1 four times.

(Viikii is almost done with subbing the ep, btw).

In any event, I bring you my caps from ep 1 of Wallflower. I am so ecstatic they got my favorite manga right - down to the atmosphere of cooky hilarious quasi-horror :)

We are first introduced to Kyohei when he is (a) getting groped by his boss, (b)has screaming ladies disrupting the restaurant wanting to have him be their waiter; (c) loses it spectacularly, smashing the ladies's table, punching out the boss, and quitting. This has clearly happened to him umpteen times before. And I lol forever because they got the manga right. Even if Kame is not at all the way I'd imagine Kyohei physically, he totally has the attitude right.

Takeru. The one big addition - in the drama, he is Landlady's son but he does not exist in the manga. He seems to fit really well into the story though so I am all for it.

Just like in the manga, ladies are going rabid discussing the fact that 4 hottest guys in school are rooming together - they have been hand-picked by Landlady to do so.

Kyohei gets mobbed wherever he goes which doesn't help his attitude any.

Oda Takenaga, the second of 4 guys. Takenaga is serious, smart and makes me think of Kyouya from Ouran.

Yuki, the sweet one who looks like a girl. I never got the whole Japanese thing about girly guys seeing that the rest of the Wallflower guys look girly enough IMO, but MMV.

Playboy Ranmaru:

Wallflower's very own F4, only much better adjusted. I am going to call them W4.

And their Gothic castle abode. Sunako would be happy at the location, at least.

W4 and Noi, who is the cutest girl in class and a friend of theirs. I am so glad they kept in Noi!!! Eeeee! If they give me Takenaga/Noi, I will be eternally the drama makers' slave. (I love them in the manga, as the sort of 'normal' and functional OTP but I have no idea if there will be time to cram them in, in the drama).

Ummm, I kindahaveathingforTakenaga.

Ahahahaha, Noi shutting Kyohei up because he is alluding to Noi's crush on Takenaga (EEEE, they are keeping it innnnn!) while Takenaga looks on clueless.

Yuki is scaring me - it's a serial killer grin :)

While Ranmaru has been borrowing Domyouji's wardrobe:

The Landlady. She requests W4 turn her niece Sunako into a lady and that way rent is free. Watching Kyohei go from disgruntled by the idea to ecstatic at the mention of free rent is priceless.

Our first look at Sunako. Not pleased to share her quarters with 'creatures of light.' Ahahahaha. I love how terrified W4 get.

This is here because it makes me hungry.

W4 entrap Sunako by strewing a trail of horror items :)

But the makeover fails because Sunako is supernaturally strong and frees herself, causes an electric storm and escapes back into her lair. Good luck, boys. And then we get the most ridiculous credits ever. I loled and loled and loled.

Keep an eye on this girl. She is a crazy evil stalker. Cheer up, Kyohei! At least you aren't going to get kidnapped by an S&M club in the drama version, I am pretty sure.

I love that Sunako's friend is just as odd as Sunako - she was taking pics of Kyohei to sell to fangirls for money :)

Sunako = LOVE.

This was my second-favorite scene in the drama, the conversation between Kyohei and Sunako. OTP OTP OTP.

The sleazy host that Sunako's friend has been giving all her money to.

Takenaga = crush. Did I mention that?

W4 and Sunako hatch a plan to bust the host (which involves Kyohei being a host :P) but it gets thwarted.

Sunako's friend is kidnapped and Kyohei is also forced being a host or else Sunako's friend gets it :)

Sunako to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite sequence! OMG the look on Kyohei's face OMGOMG.

Bwahahahaha 'creatures of the light' - there is only so much Sunako can take :)

So she runs back to her back-up - Yuki, Takenaga and Ranmaru in drag :P

Sunako loves the cute cookie, heeee - she is a big dessert fiend and I can identify.

Sunako and Kyohei hatch a plan to find out where Sunako's friend is hidden:

Ooooh, success!

Too bad, psycho catches her and the rest of them.

Tied up and dressed up - yup, that's my Wallflower, all right!

Ummmm, I find Kame really hot with his host hair!

Sunako frees herself from the ropes with a bit of psych help from Kyohei:

TIME TO KICK BUTT OH OH OH MY VIOLENT OTP. And Kyohei and Sunako proceed to rampage through the club, knocking out hordes of opponents.

Did I mention Sunako = love?

Sunako and Kyohei gift exchange - she gets cookies, he gets a skull. Heh.

Don't forget the crazy stalker, otherwise known as garden variety KATTUN fangirl.

Previews. I think they are going to be doing 'Sunako is possessed by a serial killer ghost' next.

In other news, I have finally recovered from the amazingness of Slave Hunters eps 3-4 enough to write about them and give you caps.

The fight between Dae Gil and Tae Ha is epic. I continue to be amazed how regal Tae Ha manages to look despite his rags - Dae Gil cannot really ruffle him or break his dignity or anything like that. They might be equals in battle skills but emotionally Tae Ha is his superior.

Fight gets interrupted by Rival Slave Hunters.

Have some plot.

Oh, my darling dysfunctional ship.

NOT a ship :)

Wounded, borderline delirious Tae Ha remembering his wife and child.

Lee Jong Hyuk's character - formerly Tae Ha's best friend now his nemesis - questioning the runaway groom.

Mmmmm, Dae Gil. Let's make this MMMMM DAE GIL.

BFFs.

Tae Ha at the grave of his Prince (I believe). These two episodes made Tae Ha my favorite character in the drama. It's funny, Oh Ji Ho is the biggest revelation for me in this drama - I knew Jang Hyuk and Lee Da Hae can knock it out of the park, but I have always found OJH a gorgeous block of wood. But here - here, Oh my God, the tortured humanity in his eyes - I never knew he could act, let alone act like this.

He remembers the Prince surrendering and refusing to be freed.

And we meet the awesome adorable Sul Hwa:

Un Nyun travelling as a guy - and doing a very bad job of it.

Tae Ha beating the guards at the outpost (he can do it even outnumbered and wounded OMG):

Rescuing Un Nyun from rape is the best thing that ever happened to him - because when he collapses, she takes care of him.

He remembers in his delirium finding his wife and baby dead during the Manchu invasion. I have already posted about it and I refuse to go back to rewatch and cap because it was unbearable.

He keeps clutching his sword, even unconscious.

And reaching for them:

OK, I am fickle. I am now shipping Tae Ha/Un Nyun like crazy. Because he's a better person than Dae Gil and because both of them deserve happiness.

Dae Gil gets hired by shady minister to hunt down Tae Ha. I loved during this scene how it's made clear that even though Dae Gil is free he is not treated as a person either - if you are not powerful, you might as well not exist. Powerful stay in power by setting the powerless upon each other.

Un Nyun doing a memorial service for Dae Gil and I love how Tae Ha is beginning to fall for her.

OTPOTPOTP.

Meanwhile Un Nyun's bodyguard is searching for her:

She may be doing a memorial service for him but he is very much alive.

On the run and hunted. Ahhh, the irony:

Not related to either of the above but in honor of Im Ju Hwan getting cast as a lead in a drama by Legend's writer (OMG), have this awesome Tamra the Island MV. It's with a rather appropriate Russian song - woohoo for other Russian-speaking Tamra fans!
