Dark Hunter books...
May. 29th, 2007 12:58 pmI am consuming Dark-Hunter books like candy. The only one of the books I truly love is the one about Zarek, but I really enjoy the rest, mainly for the world structures and Ash and Simi etc. And yeah, Zarek is my favorite dark-hunter (well, Ash is, but he really isn’t a dark-hunter) which, considering he is bona-fide psychotic, says something about me. I guess I like him the best because he might have a lot of angst and issues but he is not all mushy and weepy about it. And I totally love that even after his HEA with Astrid he is still totally anti-people-person. He is incredibly in love with Astrid (but not sentimental either yay) but that doesn’t translate into his being a Polyanna (because my problem with someone like Kyrian or Julian is they adjust too well, too quick considering how much trauma is in their past). In fact, I am currently reading the Viking book (blanking on the name) and am not too keen on it but Ash and Zarek and etc have just appeared as back-up and I finally got into it. I love Zarek’s attitude which is basically ‘Astrid sent me here. She thinks I should make friends. Must be some weird woman thing. I am just here for the killing. Let’s kill things so I can go back to the beach.’ HEH.
So basically my favorites are the psycho (Zarek) and the masochist (Ash). The rest are woobies of various sorts and thus apparently not my speed. This is deeply disturbing.

Heh.

How many books into the series is Zarek's book?

Normally, I am much more about Ash (the super myserious, super-powerful, super-messed-up leader of the Dark Hunters) then about whoever the lead happens to be, but here it was actually not the case!

Date: 2007-05-30 01:53 am (UTC)Yup, I was reading the Wulf book which was pretty hohum. I think it's funny because I get all excited when Ash or Zarek show up but then it makes the rest of the characters seem boring :)
