My favorite jdrama actress, Horihita Maki (of Nobuta Wo Produce and Kurosagi fame) is playing the adorable Mizuki, who cross-dresses to go to an all-boys school to be close to her high jump idol Izumi Sano.

And (meganbmoore, are you sitting down?) OGURI SHUN IS PLAYING SANO!!!!!!!

Hanazawa Rui gets his own drama. Where he will finally gets the girl. And he gets to be Sano. EEEEEE! And there is such a huge height difference between them (he is 22cm taller! That’s what, over 8.5 inches? EEEE). And it’s Maki and Oguri Shun playing an OTP. OMG. Seriously. OMG

And Ikuta Toma (who I’ve only seen in cameo in Hanadan but who was pretty) is playing Nakatsu.

No really, my younger brother just came over and started hitting me to make me stop screaming. This is a dream come true, because it's Oguri Shun (WHO I AM IN LOVE WITH SO BAD AND NEED HIM TO BE IN A DRAMA WHERE HE IS ACTUALLY THE MAIN CHARACTER!) and Maki Horihita (who I totally have a girl crush on). I *hem* kinda found out over the weekend but A) didn't know if it was official and B) Didn't know who he'd be(I actually kinda figured Nanba since he's so much older)

Aside from a bit of hesitation since he's almost 10 years older than Sano and the fact that he's...what...6 years older than Maki?...and some actors tend to be uneasy about that when it mean the girl's age still starts in "1"(and HK has bed snuggling scenes...) I'm all for it. When my brain is properly functioning, I suspect I'll be much more squee-like.

I don't mind the age difference as in the manga he always came across as more mature. But we'll see. I am so excited about him being lead, and oppositve Maki, no less, that I am not even functioning properly.

There was a really big rumor that Ryo Nishikado was going to be Sano (I think he'd be a good Sano) but I totally didn't expect Oguri Shun! That's great news, eeee!!! Toma!!!! In Hana Kimi! Well it's going to be difficult to top Jiro's, but as fivil pointed out, it's going to be another awesome flavour. And Toma is sooooo good in acting that I'm not even worried ^^.

they're finally making it into a jdrama, although i loved the tw version it was far too long for me.
i was wondering when shun was going to do another drama & i'm so glad he's doing HanaKimi :3 he wouldn't be my first choice but i think it's a really good choice.
i wonder if toma can act as crazy as jiro did XD

I think the j-HK version (oh, it's going to be a bitch to distinguish between the two in typing) will probably be a bit a less OTT so he won't have to act as cartoony. Which is just as well, as I can't see anyone but Jiro pulling off that take on the character (HK made me a sad Jiro fangirl).

We'll see.

I adore both Hanadan and Meteor Garden so hopefully the same will happen with the two HK versions.

Now all Japan needs to do is make Mars into a drama (Taiwan's Mars is my favorite drama ever).

I am a little concerned though because c'mon Jiro, Ella and Wu Zun like OWNED their characters. I'm fine with Oguri and dude from HanaDan 2 but Horihita Maki? Not so sure of...Ella looks (and acts) like she was born for the role...she's very tomboyish whereas Horihita is more feminine and I couldn't imagine her looking remotely like a dude. But still...

I actually think his casting is the best haha, Nakatsu's character reminds me of Toma's character in AkihabaraDeep - I think he'd be a great fit! Crazy and spazzy!

If I thought Chinese HanaKimi was good, Japanese HanaKimi must be even better. OMG. I don't normally love Shun--a mere like, really--but seeing him as Sano just makes me drool. OMG.
