My Boyfriend is Type B: adorable...
May. 15th, 2007 12:31 amI just finished the adorable Korean romantic comedy My Boyfriend is Type B which made me smile and 'awwwwww.'

It was totally fun and worked mainly because the leads, Lee Dong Gun and Han Ji Hye were redefined charming and adorable and had incredible chemistry together. (They are a real life couple which is even more...awwwww).
Also? If Lee Dong Gun was any more appealing, he'd be classified a public hazard. Seriously. (While looking for pics, I just realized that alot of it is his being so telegenic. He looks nice in photos but it's not the same thing at all). All of a sudden the drama Sweet 18 (starring the same couple) moved way higher on my list.

Date: 2007-05-15 07:54 am (UTC)Dammit. It was probably the "uhh, I dunno" feeling I got from the first eps of Sweet 18 that made me not finish My Boyfriend, even though the movie was really funny up to the point I watched it. Their chemistry seemed better in the movie, too. LDG was just hilarious as the bastard.
Agreed on Lee Dong Gun's full charm coming off on-screen better than in pics. He's sort of like Kim Rae Won in that. I recently ran into a "20 most beautiful Korean people" list when searching for Eric Mun pics and all three guys (Eric, LDG & KRW) were on it. Eric was #1, KRW was #5 or something and LDG somewhere slightly lower, like 10-ish. :D
Watch My Little Bride next! ;)

I approve of the list much more than the lists we get here where I don't find anyone attractive as much :)

Date: 2007-05-15 10:41 pm (UTC)OMG OMG OMG, I saw most of "Hello! Miss" and it is INCREDIBLE, despite the weird name and all.
Quite possibly better than "My Girl," though that can only ascertained after I finish it. But the leads, OMGGGGGGG. I was only mildly attracted to main guy, but then he--like, did the Lee Wan-esque angst thing--and I fell SO HARD. I think it's because there's no way you *can't* fall for him, because he tries to do everything right and time after time it comes out *wrong* and main girl is completely PERPLEXED by him, because one minute he seems like a good guy and then the next he totally ruins your life though what he was really trying to say is I WUV YOU. *diiiies so many times over*
Think main prince from Goong, where he is so repressed and clueless you just want to give him cookies and pat him on back and take ALL THE BALLOONS HE BLEW UP FOR THE GIRL for yourself.
And Lee Da Hae is of course perfect. I even grew to like her crazy clothing. It is SO WEIRD because her character in this story is almost the exact opposite of the one in My Girl. I mean, she's a total scoundrel in that one, and in this series she plays the role of a country girl who still believes that men and women kissing = DEATH. It's hilarious and she plays SO WELL. What's incredibly weird is the feeling that she is sort of the character in My Girl, but I think it's because deep down she really was a good person and "pure" person in My Girl.
Ep 1 is here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Slnqgol83mU&mode=related&search=
and babiplucki has it subbed until ep 11, so it'll be happiness for a long while. I promise, somewhere from episode 3 to 4, you will fall completely for it. And believe in their twu wuv. I was almost tempted by the underdog for a few episodes in the beginning (but nowhere near to my love for Lee Jun Ki in My Girl), but the main couple here is so WONDERFUL. OTP right off the bat AND functional, as you would want it. Watch it!! *ahem* Please. Hee.
PS: Pix of Legend of the Condors Heroes is very mouth-watering. I have a girl-crush on the lead girl, though I've seen her in Chinese Paladin, and her acting wasn't too great (but she's a very new actress, just 18 years old, so can't fault her too much), but the movie was just so incredibly beautiful (and so was she) that I kept watching...
And first MV for DGCH is so happy! I <333333 it. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Hello Miss.
YES.
YES.
Total YES.
I started watching it recently (I posted some pictures from it) and I am only at the very beginning because I am trying to finish a host of other dramas I started earlier but its adorableness knows no bounds. There is going to be angst later? OMG. This weekend is going to be a Hello Miss/Wue Sera Sera binge.

OMG. Now I am dead. And so very sold.
Hmmm, maybe I'll watch it tonight instead!

Date: 2007-05-16 07:57 pm (UTC)I am in desperate need of someone to wibble over the dramatic details with. There were balloons, y'see, and champagne, and ANGST ANGST ANGST. He is so clueless that he had to read help books and watch MOVIES for lessons on this whole talking to a girl about your feeeeelings business--*DIES*
