Black and White ep 16...

I have finished ep 16 of Black and White, and it's my favorite episode so far - between Chen Lin weeping that she doesn't want to be Zai Tian's little sister one second and be full of steely resolve to spring her father from jail the next (how can anyone not love Chen Lin? How???) and the scene where Ying Xiong finally breaks - he is the most principled, black-and-white person in the story and he gives up what he believes in and lets an arrested criminal go because he is the father of his friend and the girl he loves - I was gone.
Hulk and Police Girl describe the isolation of Chen Lin's mob father (who was framed for some drugs - someone wants the San Lian gang headless - I wonder if it's for info the Chairman possesses)

My favorite scene Number 1. Chen Lin asks Ying Xiong and Zai Tian to come over and then asks them to help her spring the Chairman from jail. Did I mention they are cops? Or that she just found out that Zai Tian, who she's been in love with, is her half-brother and she still has no hesitation about facing him because she needs help springing their Dad out? She is so very awesome. I love both the way Zai Tian can't really face her and Ying Xiong can't comprehend her drive - he built his whole life on obeying the law and emotion or his personal opinions should not matter (I agree with

I really love the composition of this shot - and it also sort of reflects their personalities and emotional states - both Ying Xiong and Chen Lin are very head-on and confrontational and Zai Tian is removed - despite his previous outgoing facade he is actually incredibly reserved, isn't he? But I love how he matter-of-factly states he is considering helping (when Ying Xiong is "surely you are not considering..." And Ying Xiong says he will stop him)

This scene was SO GOOD. Ying Xiong left and Zai Tian and Chen Lin are left together. And she asks "Can I not be your little sister?" OMGOMGOMG. And she is crying and he starts singing a little song his mother used to sing to him and she picks it up and it turns out to be the song her father taught her so it's further evidence that what Da Yan told them about them being half-siblings are true. And then he tells her sometimes it doesn't matter what you want. And tells her he will help get their father out...

*yes, that's a lot of caps but I love that scene and they are super-pretty*

I love the scene where Ying Xiong finds Zai Tian getting info which might be used to help Chairman escape and the confrontation that follows. When Ying Xiong yells at Zai Tian that the reason he didn't tell Chen Lin about his feelings was because of Zai Tian, and that nobody hurt her the way Zai Tian did...*ouch* But of course he doesn't get the cryptic comment Zai Tian makes about how he is envious of YX as he doesn't know Zai Tian and Chen Lin are siblings. Zai Tian is, for his part, also lashing out at all the frustration he has over everything...

I thought this scene with Zai Tian and Forensics Girl was excellent, espeically when he asks her to continue to investigate the blast if he is unable to (i.e. if he gets caught) but who am I kidding? I capped mainly for Vic prettiness...

Did I mention the prettiness?

A little break from the prettiness lest too mucb causes hyperventilation:

Back to prettiness:

The plan to spring the Chairman is activated:

Meanwhile Ying Xiong, out of some masochistic impulse, volunteers to lead the convoy transferring the Chairman:

Even random mobsters on this show are hot...

The Chairman is sprung!

I love this scene so much. When Ying Xiong, who lives and dies by his belief in the law and doing right and being a cop actually catches them but lets them go (he also finds out about the whole sibling thing - I wonder if maybe he now has a chance with Chen Lin?) When he tells Zai Tian to knock him down and he will let them go and then taunts him he is not hitting hard enough? OMG *wibble* I think it's his guilt and self-loathing, he wants to be punished...

The Chairman is in a safe-house.

I love this scene between Zai Tian and Chen Lin. Especially when he tells her how awful Ying Xiong must feel now - I think he is trying to matchmake?

Meanwhile Ying Xiong is about to face the music...

Mobster family love! I find it interesting that when Chen Lin is all "now I know why you didn't want me to date Zai Tian, he is a half-sib" he replies he didn't want her to date him because of ZT's position and talks about responsibilities - that is an odd odd way to refer to the matter. Hmmmm...

IMO, these are the mysteries that are left:
1. Is Zai Tian's Chairman's son? And whether or not he is, why is he so important not just to the Chairman but that General...Also, was Zai Tian's mom important in some way?
2. Who does Guo Yi work for, and who hired Sarkozys and why?
3. Why the bank robbery?
4. What did that guy have that they blew up a whole restaurant just to get rid of him?
5. Who and why is trying to get rid of the Chairman?
6. How was that corporate big wig and chilf of NSPD involved in all of this?
7. Will any of the main four get any relationship fun at all or are they doomed? :D
