Sword-wielding hotties, baby!
Apr. 21st, 2007 01:21 amGuuuuuh, what am I doing getting a 40 episode series, considering how many I already have.
And yet, I just got myself a copy of Yoshitsune, a Japanese drama about an ill-fated (weren't they all) general/nobleman/fighter/hottie, who was a real person (though am not sure about whether the sex appeal is historical :D).
In my defense, 30 hours of Takizawa Hideaki, period costumes, swords, politics and angst is sort of an irresistable combination. It's like Christmas, Hanukah, Eid and Holi all at once.
Fight scene from the drama. Plus hotness and aaaangst.
Commercial for it:

You can purchase it too, if you like, for about $20+, but I wouldn't invest $$$ before knowing whether it's your thing.
Oh, and I suppose this will constitute as spoilers, so don't read it unless you want to be spoiled, but wikipedia has a (rather short) article on the guy if you want to check out if this is the kind of story that would appeal:

It also has Oguri Shun and Abe Hiroshi(between those three, just throw in Fujiki Naohito and Yamapi and I'm in jdrama guy heaven) though I don't know how big their roles are.

Date: 2007-04-21 08:44 am (UTC)Of course, these clips have done nothing to dispel my thing for having Takki as Tamahome if they ever made (yeah right) live action Fushigi Yuugi. I sort of have to think about who I'd have for a lot of the cast, but Takki as Tamahome and Jun as Tasuki sort of make themselves immediately known :)

LOL. I've realized all four of the jdrama guys I like have done period stuff: Takki, Yamapi, KimuTaku and Takeshi Kaneshiro :D
