I adore Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi, the adorable, dim, pushy, head-over-heels, loyal, and gluttonous heroine. And I don't care who knows it.

She is a darling, and while hardly a super fighter, she is coping with being thrown into a strange deadly medieval world full of violent crazies a hell of a lot better than I would have done at 15.

(Yes, I just came across another 'die die Miaka, so that the cute bishies could have sex with each other' fics).

Tamahome is also not amused :)

I'd tell you to stop looking at the fic, but it wouldn't do any good.

*cuddles poor, fan-abused Miaka...except when they whine about the absurdity when Tasuki fell in love with her. Because that was incredibly stupid.* But mostly, yeah, one of the most "I want the bishies to have sex so die!" abused heroines out there.

Miaka goes home and meets Earth!Tamahome and they go off and make babies and all the survivors had nice, peaceful lives.

See...I want to like Fushigi Yuugi. I really, really do. It has everything in it that I normally love, but I just can't get into it. I own the anime, but I have never made it through. I can't finish it in English, I can't finish it in Japanese (I almost wrote Spanish there for some reason...), I just can't do it. And as much as I hate to admit it, it is because of Miaka. I just don't like her. I don't hate her like most of the fandom seems to, I just can't seem to make myself care for her. And for some reason that really frustrates me...

Oh, I can see not liking Miaka. Tastes differ and everything. I was rather ranting against the very irrational 'stab stab die die bishies are mine' reaction I see in some stories on ff.net
