I just read this translation of a scene from ep 10 of Powerful Opponents by hjkomo on soompi.

SH's sister asks GP what his strategy/ulterior motive is. GP says he has none. She says she doesn't believe him. He asks what will make her believe him. She says to quit the force and take his daughter away and for both of them to disappear and never come back. He says he can't do that. Why, is he going to use the promise he made to her father as an excuse again? Why won't he leave? He says the reason he came back is definitely because of family, but the reason he can't leave now is because of his colleague. She says sarcastically, what a great reason. He replies, "It is to me." She says, "Fine, do what you want. Just don't regret it later."

OMG OMG OMG. If you don't like Gwan Pil, you have no soul.

The thing is, I adore both Su Ho and Gwan Pil, but I don't know...I think Young Jin should end up with Gwan Pil. Su Ho is adorable, but he is an impulsive, open-hearted (to YJ) boy. Yes, he is only a couple of years younger than YJ, but because of trauma and what-not, he acts rather younger.

Yes, she can obviously take care of herself physically, but her family are all charming children: her grandfather, her father, her brother. And I think YJ should have someone fully grown-up, someone who could take care of her, to be in a relationship where she doesn't always have to be the adult. With Gwan Pil, she could have someone who could shoulder a burden for her (and she does feel that burden, you can tell), for a bit, when needed. He is incredibly capable, after all. There is a Russian saying 'behind him, like behind a stone wall' (i.e. very protected) and Gwan Pil fits that saying precisely.

Of course, unlike Su Ho, who wears his feelings on his sleeve, really, and can be very very straightforward, Gwan Pil's biggest thing really is his absolute control over himself and his reserve. But that is why he needs someone warm and fun and yet very capable like YJ. I mean, if we ever get to the point where his reserve actually breaks and he grabs and kisses her? I would die.

Please, please, please TPTB. I want GP/YJ. Today. Tomorrow I might change my mind again.
