Powerful Opponents ramble...
May. 12th, 2008 02:14 pmI have been positively haunting d-addicts, hoping for subs for Powerful Opponents eps 5 and so on. That is why I try not to get into airing dramas! When I do (as with this and HGD), I go psychotic from trying to wait.
Reading spoilers through ep 9 doesn't help either, because it makes me want to see the stuff. I am this close to watching raws.
Also, apparently, as of ep 9, it's still not clear at all who Lady Bodyguard will pick. EEEEE! I am amused to note that soompiers formed 'teams' and seem to be pretty evenly split between Hot Bodyguard and President's Son. As for me, I am basically easy: when they show me Bodyguard!otp scenes, I ship them, when they show me President's Son/Lady Bodyguard scenes, I ship them.
But what I really want to know is what happened eight years ago, to turn President's Son into what he is now...
* Gwan Pil (Hot Bodyguard) used to live with the Presidential family, and was almost like a family member. Su Ho (President's Son) regarded him as an older brother.
* Eight years ago, something happened which turned Su Ho from a sweet, dutiful boy to an acting-out mess of now.
* Eight years ago, Gwan Pil left. He says he would have left no matter what. He returned now because he is 'strong enough.'
* Su Ho now hates Gwan Pil.
* Su Ho's older sister is freaked out on knowing Gwan Pil will be working as a bodyguard for Su Ho. I don't think Su Ho's Mom is thrilled either. The President, however, loves Gwan Pil and is happy to see him back.
* Both Su Ho and Gwan Pil were friends with (and maybe more) the mysterious violin-playing girl who we see dimly in flashbacks.
* Gwan Pil has a daughter. This daughter's picture of her Mom is violin-playing girl.
* Violin-playing girl is dead, but Su Ho does not remember it.
* In fact, Su Ho has memory blanks: it's not really amnesia because he knows who he is (obviously) but there are huge periods in his memory which are blanks. They are all eight years old or newer (he obviously remembers life before Mysterious Event just fine). That might tie into the fact that he acts younger than his age (he is in his mid-twenties?) Probably because he doesn't remember things so emotionally he is younger?
* Su Ho also has auditory hallucinations (violin music) and they induce fits.
* Su Ho and Gwan Pil have matching brutal-looking scars on their backs. They look like the kind of a scar a slashing weapon would leave.
So what do we have? They were kidnapped and tortured by Martians? Violin girl was evil ninja and tried to slash them both with sword and died right after delivering a baby? Heh. Not likely. But...I got nothin'! It's got to be something HUGE though.
Also, I so want to see the scene in ep 9 where Su Ho tries to kiss our Heroine, Young Jin, and after momentary paralysis she shoves him and he falls into a pool :P And the other guards come running and he is all 'Oh, I had too much to drink so I tripped and fell into a pool. All by myself.' Heeee.
And the whole thing with Su Ho being so smitten with Young Jin for eps and eps and and following her around like a puppy, with the tenacity of a smitten five-year old. SQUUUUUEEEEEEEEE. Seriously, I lied. I ship them now, over GP/YJ. GP can be happy with many ladies on LJ and soompi who seem to (understandably) want him :)
