Well, that's definitely a first!!! The Hero and Heroine of a kdrama in bed by episode 2.

!!!!

YES.

The sky has not yet fallen, though.

What is the drama? Only You. Because I've been recommended it by more than one person, and because I wanted to watch Jo Hyun Jae in a drama before Three Dads And One Mom, so I'd know and like him, and be able to deal with Jae Hee losing a girl to him. After I started, I realized that he is the hot cop male lead of Nine Tailed Fox (aka Forbidden Love), which I saw first ep of and loved. I prefer him with
crew cut
:)

Ahem, where was I? Yes, right. Only You

OY is a 16-ep drama that stars JHJ, Han Chae Young (the heroine of Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang), and a bunch of yummy food. Han Chae Young is a Korean studying Italian cooking abroad. Her paths cross with JHJ, a college student from a rich family who is in Italy looking for his mother, who walked out on him when he was 7. The meet-cute isn't really romantic, and in fact the two don't mesh well at all: the quirky, kind, expressive Han Chae Young and the icy, 'hot jerk', standoffish JHJ. But they do end up thrown together in a series of misadventures while looking for his mother (long story) and ultimately, Han Chae Young manages to get under JHJ's thick shell a little. And then because he is lonely and vulnerable and she did manage to register for him, and she feels sorry for him and finds him cute, and they are both young and stupid, they end up in bed: no protection, no foresight, not even love (though mutual liking is there). And because he 'discovers' she has a bf the morning after (he is wrong), and they are young and stupid and are merely in like, it doesn't go any further.

They return to their lives: she to cooking school, he to his unloving family (I have barely met his Dad but I have high hopes for hating him: he slaps his kid for wanting to see his Mom, and orders him to drop out of college and join the army. WTF?) Only, remember the 'young and stupid' part? Yup, three months later she is throwing up into the bushes and when the story proper (as opposed to prologue) starts, Han Chae Young is 'Mommy.' She also starts a new job working for a new restaurant. Managed by JHJ. And off we go...

So far (an ep-and-a-half in), I like it even if it isn't love. It starts a little slowly but gets cute and interesting as soon as the OTP meet. JHJ is quite attractive, and manages to walk the fine line of jerk but not hateable jerk; very well. Han Chae Young is her adorable self but is it me or does she not have much of a range? Her character in this one is sort of Chunhyang-lite. It's fun so far. Doesn't seem like a high-pressure or high-stakes drama, but it seems sweet and cute and with shippiness and yumminess, and what more can you want on a cold day?

Here is a shippy MV:
