Three eps into Hello My Teacher and I love it. How do I know? A surefire tell: I get a knot at the pit of my stomach whenever either Bori or Tae-In get hurt.

Seriously, this thing is AWESOME. It's sort of like as if someone wrote a super-awesome Shin/Yankumi AU and then filmed it. Not really, because it does have its own story and its own vibe, but this is an extra treat to a Shinkumi shipper.

I adore Bori. I am not too picky on my heroines. As long as I adore the hero, the heroine merely has to be tolerable, and I'll be OK. But Bori is a heroine I actually love. I love her spunkiness, her very real toughness, the fact that she is not afraid to either spectacularly lose her temper or to apologize, the fact that she so unabashedly wants to date what-s-his-name (cute arts guy), the fact that she has a go-getter attitude, the fact that she can be hurt.

And Tae-In is likewise super awesome (but then, he is played by Gong Yoo who I am fast deciding must be one of my very kdrama faves. It's funny because he doesn't have a classically handsome face, but in action he is irresistable). He is someone who can be immature, even bratty, but someone who is also startlingly lonely and vulnerable, if nobody will see him. Bori is right on the money when she tells him he is stirring all the trouble because he is so lonely he will do anything to be noticed or loved (by his classmates I suppose for daredevilry). I love love LOVE the scene where he managed to escape his hospital room and let all the fire-sprinklers go, and as the lobby is in chaos, people with umbrellas, cops, God knows what, he is standing on the desk, in his hospital-issued PJs, oblivious to the pandemonium, headphones in ears, dancing to the music only he can hear.

Tae-In's family makes me want to smash their collective faces in, but nobody as badly as his father, whose sole mode of interaction with his kid seems to be a desire to lock him away for good. Seeing that his mother killed herself when he was eight, I can see why the boy has issues (also, I could do a dissertation on why this will eventually lead him to fall for Bori as a lover-quasi-maternal-replacement). That is why what Bori yells at him on the roof (that she now can see why his parents abandoned him and his teachers, and he is scum and not a person) bothers him so much and he ends up going to his Mom's crematorium. And what I love even more is that Bori, even though she had every right to be pissed based on what she believed at the time (which was incorrect but she was reasonable to believe it), decides she said too much and comes to his house to apologize. So we get a very cute scene. Btw, they have loads of chemistry!

Also, WTF is with the Secondary Female? The frelling princessy, privileged, vicious BITCH. I want a rock to fall on her face, and I kept rooting for either Bori or Tae-In to punch her out but it will sadly probably never happen. Seriously, is it the job of every secondary female to make every member of the audience's blood pressure go through the roof? I was annoyed enough with her when she completely ignored Tae-In's repeated stated lack of interest and referred to him as hubby (whaaaaa?) and her snooty, leader of the clique bully attitude in school pissed me off too. But when I really saw red is when she took compromising photos of Bori (long story, but everything was 100% innocent), used them as means to humiliate her, made her think Tae-In was the one doing it, and after Tae-In found out and wrecked her phone where the pics were stored (informing her for the thousandth time he had no interest in her), she salvaged it and with a 'you like worrying about her, I'll give you something to worry about,' posted the thing on-line! Wrecking Bori's life (who btw still thinks it's Tae-In), but even worse, seeing as how she professes to love Tae-In, not only is it going to make the boy miserable (and punched in the face by arts teacher guy) but since this was last-ditch hope, he is getting locked up in the loony bin!

UGH I HATE YOU STUPID SECONDARY GIRL. Seriously, I want her eaten by rabid squirrels in public. DIE.
