Brace for the aaaaaangst...
Nov. 2nd, 2007 09:52 amI just checked out the first five minutes of The Outsiders 2.
Oh man.
We know we are in for a fluffy, light comedy right away.
If 'we' are a Martian or a sadist, perhaps.
Any drama that starts with the voiceover of the heroine recalling the day of her rape is bound to get even chirpier (at least TO was fluffy for a bit, at first, but since TO2 takes place in the two missing years in TO...). And then Yu Yen adds that she only later realized that Shan Zi (the guy who went to jail for killing her rapist) is the only one who really escaped.
Oh boy.
And then we get to the credits, with such cheery images like Yu Yen with really short hair (she hacked it off after the rape), and Ah Hao collapsing in despair, and his running with her unconscious body. (I wonder what happened, since we know he doesn't find out she was raped until the later eps of The Outsiders).
I am going to love it, aren't I? Even as I scream and curse at the screen.
