No, I haven't seen Hanadan yet. Why? Because it would mean stopping Tree of Heaven. Actually, I had to stop it for a bit to calm down, ergo this post :)

He is totally some kind of a mobster, and I am a sick, sick girl because the sight of him in that super-tailored black suit, black shoes, black shirt, black coat, buzz-cut, small earring and intense look in his eyes. Surrounded by a whole bunch of mob-looking black suited guys in a small alley? Makes me SWOON.

SWOON.

SWOON.



Did I mention the six-pack shown earlier?

Seriously.

This drama is SO good to me.

Because he came back two years later, and he won't reveal himself to her but he is watching over her!

OMG OMG OMG.

I love that now she is a grown-up woman and she knows what she wants and what she wants is YS but of course she doesn't know where he is. But OMG, when she thinks she sees him on the street (and she does) and even though she is in the middle of a tour she runs after him and he keeps walking faster and faster so she runs and they are in this giant metro station and OMG when she finally sees him as she is on an escalator and he is in a glass elevator and they lock eyes? OMG.

I love how he both wants her to see him (because of course he is still madly in love with her) and doesn't (because he was hurt so badly and because now being 'more together' in the head, he doesn't want to cause her trouble). He is so conflicted. Even though he is so full of resolution not to let her see him, I think if she pushed, he'd cave like a house of cars, because he just loves her too much.

And OMG, the stuff with the locker! When he knows where her locker is, and he (as the hotel guest of the super special expensive guest room for which she is coordinating) leaves her a note that she forgot her key, and she opens, and one day there is this awesome stuffed animal (seriously, that is the cutest animal ever. The thought of Yoon-Suh, who is totally macho-looking-mobster type picking it up in a store makes me incoherent with glee). And next day there is this awesome white winter coat.

I love.

And I love how she is in his room and she finds a sketchbook and the graveyard to which they went together is drawn (including the snowmen they made) and she is wondering but it would be too fantastical so she dismisses it.

And OMG, he knows she had no dinner, so he pretends to be brusque and arrange for super-fancy dinner service (letting her pick what to eat, eeee) and then when she shows up, he calls her and tells her to eat it for him.

EEEE!

The way she eats is adorable. So like a starving kitten. EEEE.

And then he comes in and she is asleep (she fell asleep waiting for him. Btw, I love how she hasn't seen his face yet) and OMG OMG OMG!

He just sits there looking at her!!!!!

And he takes his hand and lightly traces the contours of her face without touching her so as not to wake her. And his hands are shaking.

OMG OMG!

All the while looking at her with those intense eyes.

And then he pulls his hands back and you see he has to physically clench his hands together because he wants to reach out and touch her so much.

And he tells her even though he can't be with her, he'll take care of her forever.

And he tells her not to cry, as he is crying.

OMG OMG OMG OMG.

Did I mention that creepy evil Maya got her clutches on Hena again? And Maya is a hostess in a sleazy club and some drunken guy runs after Hena, and she is running terrified, when two really burly guys step out of an alley and grab him. Yes! It's Yoon-Suh's underlings.

YES.

I LOVE THIS DRAMA.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

I now must see everything Lee Wan has ever been in.

SERIOUSLY.

alexandral is right, btw. Somehow, despite all the angst, it doesn't feel depressing. Maybe because it's so beautiful and moves so fast and is so passionate.

It even made me betray Hanadan! And it's really short (either 10 or 12 eps depending on the version you get of how long they slice the eps). It's jdrama length! And jdrama pace. And it has hot angsty mobsters! I mean.

Seriously.

The only way it would be better is if they were offering Lee Wan posters (or considering that I share living space with Mr. Mousie, probably not :D)

You know, your posts talked forgottenpolish into checking this out...then I spent about 3 hours enjoying her obsessing over it(she put Hana up there with Xiang Qin from ISWAK, and I've never seen her more protective or attached to another dorama heroine like XQ) then your angst comments(and research...scared her away...

But you know...I love my nice, healthy OTPs like Hana Kimi, Fruits Basket, etc(even Kyohei and Sunako in Wallflower are comparatively safe and healthy, they're just both violent nuts) but the ones I love the most are the screwed up ones, I just want the screwed up to be JUSTIFIED, dang it. I can live for "We can't be together" and "I'm not good enough for you" and "does he/she really care?" as long as it's blasted justified...cuz when it is, it's about the best thing ever, and this sounds like one of the justified cases.

What catches my attention here, though, is the watching over but not going to part. Because, to me, it means a LOT more if the OTP survives separations, especially long ones, than if they spend all their time together, because it tests them...gives me more faith that the relationship will survive in the long run(even if they both die in the end...)

I've only started on Basara. (She just became Tatara). The story has a lot of potential though I can't say I am keen on the art. But it looks really really interesting so far!

Exactly. It totally is. Not just the step-siblings part, but I can see why dating someone in the mob is a bad bad idea. And the being apart but still loving each other gets me all the time!

I actually get that too! He is so awesome as YS. I am getting this a bit with JJH and wanting to have him as Shin in Goong forever. But then that's how I thought of Rain in Full House but then fell for him in A Love to Kill.

Yeah, I've thought of watching Stairway since it's a classic but heard it's really sad. I think I read Lee Wan and Hana(i can't remember her real name) they play the lead as kids in there. So I guess we can see them in love again if we watch Stairway.

Some reason I actually don't feel that way about JH as Shin. I guess since it's been awhile since I've seen Goong and I want to see more of him so badly. Oh ALTK. I really loved Rain in Full House but nothing compares to ALTK.

You know what I love? How she picked out the RED outfit for him and he kept trying to get her to put it back but seeing how she really liked it he let her pick and HE'S THE ONE WHO ENDED UP WEARING THAT CHEESY COLOR. *loveslikemad* Because I really thought the suit was going to be for his underling, so I died many deaths after seeing HIM in it. *meeps*

Yeah, I love how he tries to hint that it's not the best color (and it isn't) and she is firmly 'he wears to much black' and even though he is such a tough guy, she so has him wound around her little finger. And he goes all over town in it :)

Another thing I found adorable is when she had all those girlie looking shopping bags from the fancy stores he would so not carry them for her. LOL.

Oh, the ice skate ring was adorable. Like when he was giving her advice on how to skate while holding on to the railing himself for dear life, LOL. She can make him into such a boy, it's adorable :)
