Tree of Heaven, why do you spoil me so? He's come back as some sort of business bigwig, with short hair, an earring *dies* and a closet full of black suits with black shirts. And he's rented the VIP room in the hotel where she works and she has to serve his room but she doesn't see it's him and OMG OMG OMG. And he is in the bath and OMG OMG.

Did I mention that she is still wearing (now very scuffed) pink shoes he bought her two years ago? YES.

I don't like his short hair. :( I really miss his emo hair! I love the black suits though! I loved how he kept leaving her little presents in her locker and his whistling (GAH!!).

But OMG, the scene in the train station when she first sees him again and runs after him! OMG. And in the bath where he is with his back to her and eeeeee!

This is AWESOME. I love that she is grown-up now so she knows what she wants.

AHHH!! It drove me nuts when they kept passing each other!! Gah, the bath scene and she kept looking at his feet! I would have so looked instead of being scared like her(lol, boy that sounded prevy but he had shorts on!).

Me too! Though there are much more obstacles to come for them. :( I want to read your other post but Tree Heaven sucked away all my sleep last night and now I need a nap before I pass out. I will read it right away once I get up. :)

Btw, my subs are a bit 'creative' occasionally so I am a little confused to what happened to his Dad/her Mom. Am I right they were in a car crash and Auntie went to id them but didn't tell the lovers about the deaths?

LOL, thank you for reminding me about My Girl! I couldn't remember which other drama had hotel heir! The only heir that came up in my head was Domyoji. :P

Yeah, their parents got into a car accident and died two years ago. The aunt went to identify their bodies but never told anyone about it. SO CRUEL! Later on she will tell Maya...

I want them to live HEA too but these sort of dramas never give us this. I'm sure it's going to be horribly sad ending leaving us in tears...

I haven't gotten to more bath scenes yet (we had houseguests for most of the day) but OMG, when she comes in to return his gifts and she sees him in his undies and OMG the six pack!!!! She turns away but I am all 'silly girl, look some more!'

Oh yes, exactly. The fact that she could walk away after that is incredible. I understood her: she was young and it was so big and she was momentarily scared, and she did run after him later but it was too later. Of course now she is a grown up and knows what she wants, but OMG, the scene where he was literally laying his heart for her there in front of everyone and she still couldn't admit. OMG. My heart broke.

Yeah, I can understand how scared she is and how wrong she left it was. My heart broke too. Especially when he was just laying on the ground crying. He's an amazing actor. Where has be been all this time?? This is going to sound strange but part of me misses him being mute. I guess I miss his constant stares of passion (EEEE!).

The bath scene in episode 7 is better. I swear he should just be constantly shirtless. ^^

There is a bath scene in ep 7? OMG! Must get to it! Even better? OMG OMG OMG. When in ep 2 he was lying there and he mumbled he'll protect her? OMG.

And yeah, I could see both her reasoning and his pain in the 'breakup' scene. I couldn't fault either of them but I was willing her to stay with him.

He's an amazing actor. Where has be been all this time??

I know. I have no idea where, because OMG, hot + can act!

Bath scene in 7 pretty different to 2. It's just very playful. :) I really like when they play together like little kids. It's so adorable! It's very innocent too but sometimes makes me nervous as if something more may happen. :P

I wonder if Mokuren no Hana (lol Hana!) will start playing soon. I'll have to do some research since wiki says 2007.

He really does but I guess Hana's love is keeping him warm now, lol :P

I love Tree of Heaven! Especially the first couple episodes with his silence, roughness and intense stares! This show is so good: it knows it's melodramatic, and it embraces it and pulls it off with conviction. Plus, ten episodes is a perfect length. Some other k-dramas should take a hint (Loveholic, I'm looking at you.)

Yeah, my problem with a lot of kdramas is they slow down to a trickle to pull off the eps length. And/or keep doing the same thing ad neauseam. Definitley Loveholic which started awesome but by the middle I was 'enough already.'

Saw your tree of heaven ramblings and had to hop on over to your journal to read them. I love how detailed you write... I feel like I'm rewatching the epis because of you and it's so nostalgic ^^

This is my favourite kdrama so I am really happy that you are liking it as well. Gosh, I cried so much while watching it... :D

You mentioned in your previous TOH posts that you were interested in watching his other works... well, TOH is his latest drama and my personal opinion is that it is also his best drama. He has grown a lot as an actor. I've watched Snow White and Let's Go to the Beach but I don't think they are exceptional dramas.

In Snow White he played the little brother of the main lead's love interest. Big brother didn't like the lead so she ended up with little brother (Lee Wan). At first it sucks you in but near the end it drags and then the ending was bad so it was a bit of a let down.

LGTTB was about lifeguards and love triangles between a coworker (Lee Wan) and a hotel president's son (JunJin of k boyband Shinhwa). It was a mediocre drama; Lee Wan and the actress didn't really have good chemistry so it was kind of boring to watch.

Just thought I would give you a heads up/ some opinions on the dramas if you were going to check them out.

Tree of Heaven is amazing. It's one of my favorite, if not the favorite, kdramas. It's so gooooood.

Oh, was it? Awesome! That was right after I finished the series and I wanted so badly to share the love, hahah. I bought the boxset (Malaysian version) and the English subs are great, I am so happy that at least one person checked it out \^o^/

No problem, I felt the same way. I wanted to check out all his other works but just in case you didn't have hours and hours to drop. I guess I just didn't want you to feel disappointed. But in all fairness even though I didn't think they were amazing dramas they did have their fun moments and their own charm. I don't think I truly disliked many dramas save Prince's First Love and It Started With a Kiss. (sorry if you are a fan of either ><)

You know how Lee Wan was also in Stairway to Heaven along with Park Shin Hye? Both of them were in that drama together as the younger versions of the main leads. Years later they end up working together again in TOH, but now starring in their own drama. I thought that was so lovely.

I knew he was in StH but I didn't know she was either and I didn't know who they played. They seem to be doomed to play tragic lovers :)

I've never seen Prince's First Love (though I have it somewhere). I like ISWAK but I can totally see how it wouldn't appeal.

But Tree of Heaven is so good and I am so grateful to you for reccing it (right now it's in the running for my fave kdrama, other competitors being A Love to Kill and My Girl. Maybe Goong).

And he is so intense in this (I am up to the point where he is having a 'rematch'with 'Senpai' and my screen is about to explode from the hotness of two men squaring over a woman ;))

Btw, where did you get the Malaysian version. My version has Chinese subs too and the English subs are not horrible but they are rather pidgin and sometimes not understandable much, so I'd love a better version!

Love My Girl and Goong. I tried to watch ALTK and I watched the first epi but it didn't draw me in =[ But since you love it I'll check out your tags and see if you wrote anything about it.

I got the Malaysian version off YesAsia. It was released in January of this year :D

Do you understand Chinese? Do you watch with English subs but when it's off you switch to Chinese?

Yeah, I want them to work together again. I wrote a lot about ALTK (the tag is either altk or a love to kill, I don't remember). First ep is rather different in feel from the rest btw. I loved it because it had that unreasoning impossible love thing going.

Thanks for the heads up about Malaysian version. Yay! I don't understand Chinese unfortunately. I wish I did :(
