Travel help
Jul. 25th, 2007 10:15 amOK, I looked online and couldn't find an answer. Maybe one of you knows, or knows where I can look.
Mr. Mousie and I want to go on vacation to Chile and Argentina in the beginning of September. I know seasons are reversed down there, but the weather in the cities will be OK for travelling. However, part of it will involve driving in the Andes between Chile and Argentina (in fact, it's the part both of us are looking forward to the most). Question: does anyone know how I can find out if the mountain passes are drivable that time of year?
Related question. We were planning to go to Chile/Argentina (with a detour to Uruguay) in the beginning of September and go to Hong Kong/Thailand in November. Part of the reason for that is I read September's monsoon season in that part of Asia. So, question: is it? Or could we do HK/Thailand in September? In which case we'll flip the trips. Going to Chile/Argentina in September means missing out Tiera del Fuego, Patagonia, Lake District etc though we didn't have time to do everything anyway.
