Still shipping rabidly...
Feb. 25th, 2007 02:17 pmHeeee! I love Yu Watase. She (unlike other creators I could name) knows how to please the shippers. One of her little side-note comment thingies mentions, totally matter of factly that "For example, Ceres was written on the premise that the love between Aya and Toya is sacred and inviolable, as a necessary foil to Kagami's ideals. If anyone were to question that, the entire composition would fall apart."
GLEE. RABID SHIPPER GLEE.
Oh, and yeah, I got to that part of volume 12 of Ayashi No Ceres.
Oh Toya. And Aya! Dammit, I know he comes back but still...
*sniffle*
I was half-covering the pages. AnC is like the Fushigi Yuugi angst, times 43. If I didn't have all the volumes and had no idea what would happen later, I'd throw things.
On a lighter note, what is the thing with the hickeys? Heee. I love the bit where he leaves on his last mission *sob* but he doesn't tell her what he is doing, and he kisses her neck and says he'll be back before that mark will fade. And then pauses and adds 'I mean that mark' (as opposed to all the other hickeys she is currently sporting 'cause of him) and she is all 'you are such a guy.' Heeee. (I also love how he has a Tamahome-ish 'I know I am not 'normal' but I don't care too much, as I am baout the practicals, taking care of Aya' thing going).
Anyway.

Y'know, if he wasn't exempt because I knew how it ended, Toya would have completely been on that list the other day...ok, there would have been a tie, but still...

Date: 2007-02-25 08:19 pm (UTC)Hickes AND making out. Every book since vol 7 had a sex scene(s) in it. Not that I am complaining :) Mmmmm.
Aya must have very thin skin to get hickeys this easily though (though hmmmm Toya is superhumanly strong :D) because I remember practicing hickeys on my arm when a kid (all the girls did) and mine would fade in a half an hour :D

Seriously, I knew how it ended, and I still ended up hyprventilating and freaking out. Even though I knew.
She LOVES to kill her characters, doesn't she? I see no way for Genbu Kaiden to end in any way but a lot of OTP angst, and dead Takako and dead Limdo and all that wonderful cheery stuff. And I still haven't forgiven her for the end of Absolute Boyfriend. WTF? It's a hyper, cheery shoujo, not like Ceres where you know from the start you are in for a ride. I liked what's-his-name, the cute neighbor with glasses, but I am NOT fond of the 'male of OTP will keel over, and other guy will take care of the girl' thing. ARGH. *fumes*

I actually really like this. I am not big on love triangles except in the 'otp and third person who might want in' type of thing, but the OTP has to be clearly deniniated and it always is, in her stuff. None of that tiresome 'who will she/he pick' stuff. They better feel their love is epic if they want me to :)

Date: 2007-02-25 08:36 pm (UTC)And Absolute Boyfriend...see, that's the only one where I didn't get the feeling she even had an OTP really in mind from the start. To me, Night was cute, but more like an affectionate puppy programmed to love her, while Shuji's(Shoji?) feelings felt more like the kind that would last. But that's a unique case for me...every other time, the girl has, to me, unquestionably liked the right guy.
