He took a knife for her!
Stood there and begged Shimada to stab him. Oh his knees.
I have no words.
I have not seen a character this helplessly, crazily in love with his OTP since Bokgu in A Love to Kill.

It's after 3am, I am sick. I should be in bed. But instead I am watching ToH and clutching my pillow and crying and turning into a royal mess.
I haven't been this in love with a main character since...oh, at least Gong-Chan from My Girl, and it's been months.
But OMG. He is so toughly masculine and so helpless before the power of his feeling for her at the same time.
Not to mention incredibly beautiful. The really short haircut just emphasizes the awesome bone structure.
OK, I'll try to be chronological but it's hard because I am still thinking of him on his knees before Shimada, stretching out a knife, for Shimada to stab him.
All so he won't harm Hana.
OMG.
OK, right, where were we?
His birthday. I love that he finally decided for them to be together, after he found out their parents are dead. Being in the mob and being stepsiblings together could keep him apart from her, barely. But either one is not strong enough by itself. I love him watching her wait for him and his second in command is 'she is all alone' and YS replies 'She's got me.'
*dies*
And then they have the most awesome evening (LOL at his underlings buying out all the flower shops to decorate the suite). He is smiling and happy with her, utterly relaxed. She is his salvation all over again, through the purity of her love and her innocence. (Of course evil Maya sees so we know nothing good can come of it).
And they go to a fancy store and he makes her get a whole wardrobe. And OMG, he walks with her into the changing room and she has a shirt on and he unbuttons the top button (mind you only the top!) saying it looks better that way and OMG, my screen nearly melts because of the hotness. I am glad now there won't be bed scenes because then my screen would simply explode. It's Yamapi-Maki levels of UST, people!
I love the scene where he tries on shoes on her feet for her (this drama totally has a foot fetish) and she says she doesn't want any because she still has the pair he bought her in high school. And then she says he needs socks (because OMG he still wears his shoes barefoot), and he asks her to help him put it on and OMG HOT. Eeee and the way he looks at her is to DIE FOR. Seriously, if a man I love looked at me like that, I'd ravish him right there. Get with the program, Hana!
And then further awesomeness follows. Because she finally finds out that he is the owner of the suite who's been helping her out. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. He is wearing the jacket she picked for him (I like his all black wardrobe better but he does look more innocent less mob in her choice of clothing).
And I love how he says to her, as she is crying, it's beautiful she is happy. And he says (as if to convince himself) he can give her happiness and omg and he kisses her tear omg omg and she kisses his. Because they are both crying.
And it's the most tender thing.
OMG OMG OMG.
And they have dinner together and he gives her a rose but as he passes it toher, she clings to his hand and they ust sit there holding hands.
And then they have this date where they go to a closed amusement park and ride all on their own and she makes him promise to never leave her no matter what and he does. I love how throughout she looks at him as if he is a fabulous undeserved present she can't quite believe in and what if he disappears. And they take off their shoes and run around barefoot. He is such a boy with her. OMG.
And they have noodles and memories mix in and it's awesome scene as they both deny they are affected to the other.
And then he gets a call from Maya so he asks Hana to wait for him in his suite and goes to meet Maya. Who is all grabby and he tells her he wants to see Hana and he told Maya he will inform her, and when Maya asks when, YS replies 'today, tomorrow, every day.' EEEEE! And Maya (who is so outclassed) tries to threaten him. And he kisses her very deliberately and then downs some scotch to get the taste out of his mouth and wipes his mouth. All the while not breaking eye contact. It's so wrong to find it hot but I do. I love it when he is all badboy.
You know Lee Wan and the actress who plays Maya also have scorching chemistry. I am forced to the conclusion it's Lee Wan.
And the wonderful scene follows when he gets back to the hotel finding her all asleep and finally being able to stroke her face like he wanted to for so long (including her mouth OMG!) and whispering "I love you" and tucking her in.
And I love their lunch together and she is all glowy. And they ride his bike together and it's adorableness times 17.
But Shimada who is his archenemy is alive and he finds that out during the ride. Which means it's probably too dangerous for Hana. I foresee angst coming!
But not before THE BATHTUB SCENE. Which is so playful and adorable and sweet and hilarious. They are like puppies. Did I mention the shirtlessness btw? But the evil drama teases us more will happen and it doesn't because Maya busts in.
*stabs*
With Senpai. And she tells Hana their parents are dead. Doing the whole 'aren't you glad, Hana?' Ugh. I think a part of her really wants to drag Hana down to her level, it will make her feel vindicated.
Yay he punched her out. I am not much on violence to women, but here? All for it.
And omg crying; he is crying but he is also shirtless so hard to concentrate on plot.

Need to hyperventilate into a paper bag.
And now because of Shimada, mob now wants to rub him off and an awesome chase scene follows. And we find out Maya really likes him. I wonder why? Is it a Miaka-Yui-Tamahome thing? Where Maya feels damaged so if the one who loves the 'good girl' would go for her, it would validate her? I actually have to give ToH huge points for making even Maya grey. I bought her desperation. And the scene later when she begs YS to be with her because for once she wants to be with someone she likes? I felt for her. But even more for YS, who looks utterly tormented.
Anyway, Hana and YS bury their parents but YS decides they can't be together as anything other than brother and sister. I wonder why? Is it because he is a wanted man by the mob? Is it because Maya's horrible world re-alerted him to how society will look at them (Dude. You were step-siblings for about a month when you were 20. I don't think it's an equivalent of eating babies). I think it's the combo of the two. The mob more probably the bigger factor: not only is he in danger and thus Hana, but he feels unclean because of being a murderer. And any way to clean himself comes with years and years of jail time.
But OMG. He tells her to marry Senpai. He tells her he will be a real brother for her, and only that. (Prior to that they are cuddling and she raises her face to kiss him and he bolts, OMG). And he tells his second-in-command about turning himself in even if it means he might likely die because he wants to stand before Hana with a clean heart even if in 20 years. Because he is all about her, and he's always been. I think the biggest reason he joined the mob after he ran away after her nightmare rejection of him was because he didn't care whether he lived or died. He was three-quarters wild. And meanwhile, he adds, with shiningly wet eyes, she won't be alone because she'll have Senpai.
OMG.
And he does become 'brother' to her, he gets her a house even. And when she hugs him, impulsively, it kills me because you see he wants to put his arms around her so much it's killing him. But he finally pulls her off him gently and is all 'you are choking me.'

I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE A MOBSTER. YOU HAVE A CLEAN HEART. NOW GO TAKE HANA TO A CABIN IN THE MOUNTAINS AND MAKE BABIES.
And then there is a meeting between Senpai's folks and Hana and right before, YS gets a call from Shimada who says his 'sister' is looking pretty so he arranges a meeting with him.
And then the whole issue of YS comes up, and her reputation is getting wrecked. And YS overhears. He is on his way to meet Shimada and he told his second in command he will protect Hana. If Shimada won't leave it alone, they (YS and Shimada) will just die together. He really meant when he said he will protect her with his life.
OMG.
And he overhears the whole issue. And OMG OMG OMG. It's a crowded hotel. But he comes up. And he kneels. Head to the ground. OMG. And he says he is only her brother and she is pure etc etc etc. OMG. And Hana kneels in front of him and is crying and the whole scene is just amazing. And of course the parents leave. And she doesn't care. For her it's all about him just as for him no pain or hardship or humiliation is great enough if it will make it better for her.
OMG.
And he says he has a meeting and walks out.
And Senpai asks Hana if she loves YS.
You have got to be KIDDING me. The only way it would be more obvious is if they wrote signs in 10 foot tall letters. And OMG she says YES. And she wants to find him and is waiting for him riding a bike, clutching the cross.
And he is at the meeting with Shimada, surrounded by Shimada's goons.
And Shimada tells him to say his last words. And YS says he is asking Shimada to go to the cops with him.
That does not go over well.
And Shimada asks YS how YS will pay for that scar on his face. And then says he will just take the most important to YS thing (Hana). Just watch him and see what he will do.
And YS, goes 'No!!'
And OMG OMG OMG. YS who is on his knees, reaches out and pulls out that dagger. And he takes off his coat so his neck is exposed. And He is kneeling like a supplicant, head bent, holding the dagger out for Shimada in his stretched hands. And he doesn't move, or flinch. Just waits.
OMG.
For Hana.
He is offering himself for Hana.
He is begging.
OMG.
And Shimada considers, and comes up, and picks it up after an interval and stabs YS in the ribs. OMG OMG OMG.
And as he leaves, he says they are quits for now, but if they meet again...
YS protected her at such cost! OMG.
And OMG, YS still manages to stay upright on his knees somehow and he says he will destroy him if he touches Hana.
And as Shimada walks away, YS crumples, and at the same time, Hana crashes her bike and as she falls the cross goes flying and she is picking it up looking worried OMG OMG.
Anyway, it's 4 am here, I better go to bed.
I am sorry Senpai. You are good-looking, wealthy and nice. And your business is legit. But you could never compare.
This whole thing reminds me of one of those awesome complicated 19th century novels in its pasisonate drive and dysfunctional perfection.
