Hollywoodland and other matters
Oct. 1st, 2006 12:56 amIt was nice though not mindblowing.
However, three (unspoilery) observations is all I feel like writing:
1. Seeing Ben Affleck get killed over and over again? Sheer genius. I might even rent it.
2. Ben Affleck should lose 20 lbs and donate them to Adrian Brody (who is really hot and SHIRTLESS btw but seriously needs a sandwich).
3. At last, a movie in which Adrian Brody does not play mentally retarded, continuously tortured, or horrendously abused. Yes. Miracles are possible.
Trailers were really good too (best thing about seeing movies in the fall? Trailers don't suck). I was especially taken with The Departed, even though I am really ambivalent about Infernal Affairs remake by anyone, even Scorcese. But still, am amused by the fact that here is Affleck, playing a secondary lead in a relatively obscure flick, and here's Matt Damon playing a lead in a Scorcese film. I am all for it. The trailer for Flags of Our Fathers looked interesting too (if a bit too on the sappy side).Ryan Phillipe can come and plant flags in my backyard any time.
Also, met up with
klmorgan and it was a lot of fun! Though I am afraid I will get sucked into even more manga! :)
