Finished ep 9 and seriously, this is like...how can you not grin watching this? The plot stuff is often improbable (the way Sui proves that she is the designer eg) but who cares.
Because? So much cute. I love how Liang 'tricks' Sui into attending the award so she can get the acclaim she deserves. What I love the most about that scene isn't the award itself which is supposed to be dramatic, but is just cheesy-delish. I love the shots of them running because he is hurrying her, and her laughing at him that no one runs in a short dress. Honestly, the whole thing about her becoming the bestest designer ever or what not, doesn't really grab me one way or another, but the romantic stuff between Sui and Liang? Oh baby. Luckily, TPTB agree with me.
And the bit where Guang Xi gets her into a deluxe hotel room under false pretences and you think you are in for one of those 'she fights him off and Liang rescues her' scenarios, but instead, it's GX's gift to her (and Liang) as congrats on her winning the award. So when freaking-out Liang arrives at the room...heeeeeee. Shippiness!!!!
I also am amused at the fact that she is lying to her Dad she is rooming with a girl. And she tells Liang she feels guilty and 'I pretend you are a girl not to feel guilty' and his eyebrows go up (understandably) at that statement, and then he is talking falsetto and is all 'in my heart, I am a girl' and they are cracking up and playing around and she is 'No way, I want a man' to which he replies still falsetto 'Oh, I am going to kill myself then' and she starts loosely wrapping a tie around his throat giggling 'I'll help.' Heeeee. It's just...it's interactions I can imagine people having.
My fave though is when they are just sitting on a random bench at night and he tells her that he never had a gf before because he watched how his father treated his mother and thought what if one day he'll be like him. But he knows now he won't and he tells her that one day he'll marry her and then he tells her 'I'll take care of you.' EEEEE! And he tells her he asked her to live with him because he hated saying good-bye to her every night when he dropped her off. And she tells him she agreed to live with him because she wanted him to wake her up every morning. And there is snogging. Boy, this show has a LOT of kissing. Not that I am complaining, mind.
But trouble in Paradise. As the end of the ep and the preview indicates, there's a new hussy in town, and she is after Liang. Gasp! (Not that I blame her) And she is sort of like a creepy Sui clone. Gasp! And Chu Xing the Evil Dad is all about her Gasp! (though not of surprise). And there is an arranged marriage talk and Hussy somehow gets to wear the wedding dress that Liang designed for Sui and Sui is blazing mad and Liang is angsting like his life depends on it (and is so hot doing so) and then Sui totally wows to win him back. Gasp! Gasp! Gasp! I am gasping enough to have an attack so I better stop.
In conclusion. I just have to point out: he knew she'd be working at home, so he brought them take out. Seriously, this is my dorama boyfriend. Dibs.
And now I am off to bed...
ETA: And since I mentioned Hana Kimi in the previous post, here are some of the photos of the principals in the adaptation:
It's called Hua Yang Shao Nan Shao Nu in this version.
Ella (haven't seen her in anything) is Mizuki:

Wu Zun (Tokyo Juliet) is Sano:

Jiro Wang (It Started with a Kiss) is Nakatsu:

Couldn't find pics of Umeda or Nanba, but the guy who plays Umeda was in Tokyo Juliet. No idea as who though...
