My brain is aswim with Goong!

The scenes on the beach and in the summer house were adorable. With the playing on the beach (heeee, she got Shin to give her a piggyback ride AND build a sandcastle) and going to a grocery store (which is my fave scene ever, they act about five) and the cooking. And sharing a bed and him gathering her in for a hug. And CG telling him she likes him.

But I feel a snag coming up. I have NO sympathy for Hyo Rin. Seriously, he proposed to you and you turned him down flat (I think because of Shin's own non-headgamy nature he assumed a no meant a no). So now he's started liking his wife and told you so, you go...pop some pills? Is it too much to hope you die?

I am also confused as to why the family is all mad at Shin. How is it his fault if his ex is psycho and tried to off self? But of course that's only the beginning of Shin's troubles, and the cops get dragged in because he is a potential witness to a fight and all that, but on the plus side, not only does he look hot angsty, we get that cute scene with CG asking him to help her share the burden and he, being Shin-like, is completely closed off, so she starts to walk away and he just totally unexpectedly grabs her and just holds her, real tight (and she is complaining it's too tight :P) and asks her 'stay with me even when I am not Crown Prince.' EEEE!

ETA: And now I am dead from the CUTE. Shin teaching CG how to drive is my favorite scene in the whole dorama so far and the most adorable thing. (He is also a brave, brave man). So OTP!!!!!

ETA 2: And now they are sharing a room at Yul's party in the country and heeeeee. I love how he isn't eating so she makes him lettuce wraps and demands he opens his mouth and stuffs it in (in front of other people, too). And he complies. (Oddly, I think his general standoffishness as a person is in some ways due to not being comfy in front of others). But he really is quite different now: he certainly laughs a lot.

And OMG, how much does CG amuse me. I love her hiding in the closet (long story) and Shin comes in and doesn't see her and takes off all his clothes before taking a shower and it just cracks me up because she looks and then she puts her hand in front of her eyes and then after a pause she parts the fingers to peek and then she closes her eyes and pulls the bangs over them and then she opens them again to look. ROFL.

ETA 3: And now we get to the misunderstandings part. Which drives me insane. CG overhears Shin talking to HR and telling her he wanted to go to Paris, but she walks off before he tells that now there is something else and if he goes it will be with someone. And she blows up at him and basically says she wants a divorce in the future he, in a very guy fashion, tries to kiss her and she slaps him. To him, that's just sort of trying to show his affection and prove she is his and to her it just looks like he is a slutbag. And then he goes to return the box of HR's stuff to HR but CG sees and misinterprets. I hope the misunderstandings stop real soon because it is getting mildly slappable.

I do love the fact that she tells him he is solipcistic and always has to have his way and that their modes of life are incompatible. And he feels guilty for dragging her away from normal life so he gets her to go visit her parents and that gets her in trouble with Queen Mother. And the thing is, he totally defends her to QM, pretty vehemently, but he doesn't say anything to her: he doesn't know how to be comforting at all.

And now there is a scandal that she supposedly has a lover and they've had their umpteenth jealous fight about Yul and they need couples therapy, seriously. Or, you know, Shin just telling her he loves her.

ETA 4: OK, I was going to talk about how Shin found out about his Dad and his Aunt (by marriage) had an affair, or how he is a formidable opponent (I love him besting Yul's mom) or the fact that I don't hate HR now, or even the fact that CG and Shin keep having their pull-push fights (they have yet another one about her staying or not at the Palace and he is once again all abrasive but when she walks off, he just leans against the door and is all angsty with the whispering 'Don't go. Don't leave me here alone.') Or even the fact that Shin never wanted to be the Crown Prince and even his mother knows that he wants to renounce it.

But forget all that because I want to discuss the live interview scene and the aftermath. Where CG has been talked by Yul into asking for divorce on national TV and Shin knows something is up so he begs her not to and tells her he will give her one when the time is right. And then the interview is there and during interview Shin says he loves her (GASP!!!) And he means it, but CG has no idea and thinks he is just doing it for PR and she mentions divorce! And Shin 'saves' the situation by some fast talking but of course the Royal family is blazing mad (Shin's father is pissing me off. How is it Shin's fault if his wife talks about divorce. They are all 'you should control your wife in public' blah blah). And then the get back to their rooms and OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. Shin tells her that if she should apologize to anyone (she was talking about apologizing to his father), it should be to him. And he tells her that he begged her not to say anything but she did. And then OMG OMG OMG OMG he tells her that this is the first time he said something like that (ILY) and he didn't say it as a Prince but as a man to woman and she just walked all over him and then he basically tells her how much he loves her (I just love his little speech and it's all romantic but I don't have it written down) and ends with saying that he bared his heart to her and she just trampled on it, and walks off. And she is crying. EEEE!

P.S. I don't like Shin's father at all. Shin is a hell of a good son (much better than he is a husband). He does the food-tasting thing every freaking day for 10 years (checking his father's food is OK), he did a good job when his father was away sick, and he is about ten times more obedient than any normal guy his age would be, so what if he sometimes wants his way? He is an autonomous human being after all. Yet his father always blames him for everything, things that are completely out of his control. How is it Shin's fault if his ex, someone he's broken up with ages ago, decides to off herself? Or that CG doesn't realize that asking for divorce on national TV a bad idea (it's not as if he didn't tell her not to, or didn't tell her he'll give her one so she doesn't have to be desperate to get it this second, or even like he is gruesome to her so she HAS to get the divorce this second or die). But the father is in a perpetual state of disappointment and expressing his displeasure to Shin, though he himself is no paragon of virtue (with all of Shin's inadequacies, he never had an affair with his sibling's spouse and he shows remarkable restraint in not throwing that into his father's face (or Yul's)).
