Hmmm, I just realized MatsuJun's Boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru ('I'm in love with my little sister') is opening this weekend. I posted about it before (it's about a guy in love with his twin sister and, shockingly, apparently based on a successful manga).

I posted a trailer for it before, but that vid is no longer available, so here is another one:

I am certainly going to hell, as the top two comments in youtube review are (and I quote) sick! filthy! false! repulsive! nasty! both of them in the manga! and no way that horrible story is going to put in film.... kill me now and my reaction? "I wonder how soon I can get my hands on this?"

It's all dramatic and pretty and emo, and the fact that my MatsuJun thing has grown to scary proportions with the restart of Hanadan doesn't hurt. And he is hot and angsty and with good hair in this one.

Yeah.

Hmmm, I really need more Hanadan icons. This weekend I'll go hunting :)

I admit, the idea behind this storyline makes me reeeeeeeeeeeeally... skittish?

Maybe it's because I'm the younger twin, perhaps? Good thing we're girls, I guess.

(On a random twinnish note, among the 40 fifth graders I see every day, there are like three or four sets of twins. It's insane!)

I actually am right there with you on wanting to see this movie. MatsuJun does beautiful things with his manga!based works and I really want to see how this "love" unfolds as I've never read the manga.

If only I was in Japan... ;)

I haven't read the manga (or seen the anime either) so I also have no idea how this turns out.

I was very amused to go some board where people were discussing it and the main topic of discussion was not the plot or anything but the fact that manga/anime had some 'racy' scenes, whether the movie would. There seem to be a lot of people out there who want to see MatsuJun sans clothes :D

I am more than a little embarrassed at how much I want to see this movie. I could argue that I want to see it for the arthouse factor but...no, I really just want to see if MatsuJun can pull off the twincest. XD

i read a few chapters of the manga a long time ago, and i just stopped because the story irked me. i'm not really much for incest, obviously. when i found out that jun was playing yori (yori's the guy right?) my initial reaction was "WTH?!" but even then i knew i'd still try to get my hands on this movie, even if only for jun.

but when you linked to the trailer a while back, it seemed like a nicely made movie, and i doubt that it'd be as near-smutty as the manga. i'm guess there'll just be a lot of angst and jun awesome-ness, so i'm keeping an open mind.

i want to know just how soon i can get my hands on this too!!

Heck I have been shipping for the wrong (read sibling) OTP in so many movies/series recently one movie more is not making any difference so I will definitely try to get my grubby little hands on this one. And the scenes in the trailers look so beautifully shot :)

Forgot to add: As for the raciness of the manga ... yeah the manga is very what we call in German grenzwertig (marginal) as it has near rape scene(s) in it IIRC ... knowing the manga and seeing the movie trailer it definitely looks like two different things but I guess they will stick to the overall theme and hopefully also stick to the original characters.

Wow (re: manga). I didn't know it was that racy. Apparently the OVAs are too. But somehow I doubt a live action movie, especially with someone who seems to have a clean enough image like MatsuJun, would go that way. The trailer does look so pretty, doesn't it?

The only incest OTP I've had is in this icon of mine (television comedy Arrested Development). They were cousins, they were adorable, the incest factor was explored for comedy's sake, it was questioned, it was hilarious and cute and yeah. But that's my only incest OTP and since their blood relation was constantly questioned in canon, there were times when it didn't feel like incest, and times when it did (but I still shipped them - somehow cousincest feels less wrong than sibling/sibling).

I look at the trailer and there are some moments when I can feel the love, feel the pain/angst, it's nicely shot ..but incest is such a deep squick for me, I can't shake the feeling of "god that's wrong". I'm technically an only child since I do have a half-brother who's 10 years my junior and we've never lived in the same house (except for weekends at dad's) but it's not about that, really. It's like, every incest pairing I know, I *could* ship and can sometimes see why people ship them. But then I just don't want to because it feels really disturbed to me.

Hmmm. I don't see cousins as incest at all. 19th century is full of cousin marriage and it's still legal in most countries and at least a third of the states back here. So yeah.

Incest is normally a huge squick for me (which hampers me greatly in the Supernatural fandom :D), but for some reason it doesn't bother me at all here. No idea why. Maybe because it does seem as they show it as fubar.
