dangermousieI just watched ep 3 of Hana Kimi and it it LOVE. I've posted about HK before (just click on the tag), but as a very short summary, it's a Taiwanese drama adaptation of an awesome Japanese manga about a girl, Rui Xi in the drama (Mizuki in the manga), played by Ella, who cross-dresses as a boy in order to go to an all boy's college (high school in the manga) to be close to her high jump idol Quan (Sano in the manga) played by my dorama boyfriend Wu Zun. She ends up being his roommate and hilarity, fluff, romance and some angst ensues. It's perfect.
ETA: Quan...shirtless...sweaty...collarbones. You do not want to know the kind of noises this occasioned in my house. Thank you, Hana Kimi!
ETA: And she left him the cutest little 'you can do it' note! EEEEE! I am a goner for quiet, awesome guys and...*dies* And then he walks out after practice and goes to the drinks machine and is about to buy what he usually gets but then he thinks the drink she was drinking earlier and going so extatic about and smiles and buys that instead. And then brings it to her in the dorm.
ETA: Rui Xi's facial expressions? The girl kills me. ROFL.
ETA: ROFL. I just want to huggle them both to death. When he is thinking 'I can't let her know that I got her towel/note/drink because she's supposed to be a guy and I am not supposed to know she is a girl and so we are supposed to interact as buddies' and she is all 'did he get it...OMG, guys aren't supposed to do this. Did he find out I am a girl? Or does he think I am gay?' Heeeee. Woobies. He can't let her know he knows she is a girl, of course (hello, she is rooming with him!) and I love that he doesn't want to do anything that would make her leave, ROFL.
ETA: I am literally gasping for air. She is trying to act more manly so Quan won't think she is gay (as her guy alter ego) and it's hilarious and he is staring at her like she has two heads and she does the whole 'let's eat really manly food [lots of heavily meat dishes]' but totally ruins the effect by saying that the school doesn't have it so she'll cook for him. Rui Xi is hopeless. :) It's a good thing Quan found out early and is a good guy who's protective. She'd be a goner otherwise.
ETA: When Quan looks amused, I melt a little. He looks amused quite often, so I melt a lot.
ETA: Xiu Yi's soccer fantasy is hilarious. But I am too busy swooning over Quan in an olive-colored shirt. And being amused by Rui Xi being so fierce whenever anyone tries to insult or mess with Quan even though she is a foot shorter than anyone else :D But how awesome. Quan just got insulted etc etc and the only thing he is worrying about is that the other person recognized that Rui Xi is a girl. He rocks.
ETA: Rui Xi's attempts at boxing? ROFL. But thank you, show, for making Quan wander around shirtless with wet hair.
ETA: Whatever his name from the other school, Quan's opponent, is all 'ohhh, so that's what's going on with you, Quan, you've changed your sexual orientation and like boys blah blah' and I love that Rui Xi is all psycho indignant (heeeee, Quan is restraining her by her backpack) and Quan himself is quite controlled and not about fighting over that. Add the fact that we have scenes of Quan doing the high jump practice over and over and being all in pain and focused and everything, and OMG, this is fangirl heaven. And then he tries to get up and can't and falls on the floor and he is gasping in pain and his hair is wet with sweat and OMG. How much do I love Hana Kimi right now?
ETA: OMG! They gave Rui Xi a bit of a different back story here but it works! How she was this way overweight shy kid but watching Quan inspired her blah blah and she is telling this to the dog and Quan overhears and OMG the look on his face. *dies* And when he gives her his jacket because she is sneezing? OMG (btw, whoever decided to keep the school uniforms of the manga in this one? I don't know you, but love you. HOT)
ETA: Eeeeeee! OMG! She is asleep in the morning and the way he is looking at her? *dies* *dies* *dies* And he wakes her up and tells her he wants her to see him jump. You know what this is bringing back to me, from the manga? Just what an amazingly functional couple they will make. guuuuuh. But then he keeps jumping but not clearing the bar, time after time after time. Rui Xi, you are the worst guy imitator ever. Because she can't take it and she just hugs him from behind and begs him to stop. Awesome and shippy but from 'passing as a guy' perspective? You fail so bad :) And I love it.
ETA: OMG, telling her not to cry and saying he won't give up and ruffling her hair and he has a tattoo!!!!! and is ten feet taller than she is!!!! *dies of squee* Though when he mentioned long and grueling training, I confess my mind went straight into the gutter.
ETA: And then Umeda the Doctor (I don't remember his drama name, just his manga name) tells her that Quan's problem is psychological not physical. And also that Rui Xi is Quan's source of courage? Eeee. And heeee at Rui Xi's face. And then Umeda offers to show her naked pics. Love him :D
ETA: Rui Xi is trying to think of what she can do. And she is like, 'packed lunches! Yay' 'Ohnoez. Am boy, can't.' Then she is like 'massage? But I don't know if he'd like it?' Oh honey, he'd like it.
ETA: More shirtlessness! OMG. I really love the makers of this. They know their target demographic. This target demographic is drooling on the keyboard, about now.
ETA: Dude, she IS giving him a massage. ROFL.
ETA: OMG OMG OMG, my favorite drama/manga/anime cliche of people falling on top of each other! And OMG, he is totally on top of her and in no hurry to get up and his face is inches away from her and they are sort of frozen and then Xiu Yi and a whole bunch of other dormmates come in. ROFL.
ETA: I love the dormmates idea of cheering Quan up: booze! Yeah, definitely guys. But then they are all 'we are drinking booze and you are drinking water or else you'll just start being much too affectionate.' ROFL. So they are all roaring drunk and he is sort of bored, reading a magazine. And then everyone is passed out except for Rui Xi who is drunk but upright and Quan who is totally sober and is just cleaning the bottles. Heeee.
ETA: Oh yes. He sees a cup of what looks like water but is a Chinese version of vodka but he totally downs it so...drunk!Quan. YESSSS. And now they are playing horror music. ROFL.
ETA: Eeeee! EEEEEEEEEE! I am literally screaming. There is kissing! KISSING! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!!! And he is totally holding her fce with both his hands and EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! And then she screams, ROFL, because it's her first kiss and so it's a disaster for her, ROFL.
Oh God, how much do I love Hana Kimi? It's one of the best manga adaptations out there! And everyone is so spot on. I can't wait until the date rape storyline, which makes me sound horrible, but there is rescuing, and carrying and comforting. EEEEE! Quan is so my dorama boyfriend.
Other things that make me happy? The thought of the upcoming kdrama The Time Between Dog and Wolf. With another of my dorama boyfriends, Lee Jun Ki in the lead role as a man who wants to avenge his parents' death which pits him against his best friend. He also meets his childhood love from whom he's been separated. The stills look amazing.

And yet another thing that rocks? I bring you a couple of pictures of the awesome Oguri Shun, Hanazawa Rui in Hana Yori Dango 2. Who should so get a lead in a drama before he steals the show in Hanadan 2.
Oh, and I got my hands on Vampire Knight vol 2 More angsty Zero. Yeah!
