dangermousieOK, I am now a Shi Mein-Shiao You shipper.
Seriously. Eeeeeeeee. I could tell she was going to like him from the start because he is genuinely nice and he helped her get back at her skanky bf and he is all hot and experienced and all. But I just fell for them as a couple SO hard when she came to his room and offered herself and he was so amazingly nice to her. He unbuttoned one button on her shirt and she is all tense and he just gently buttons it back up and tells her "I am not that kind of a guy. I can't make love to a girl who is shaking all over." And she tells him she wants this, and it's her first time and she is offering it. And he goes "you don't want this. You are not that kind of girl. All those girls I sleep with, I don't even remember their names much afterwards." And she tells him it's fine with her, because her family is leaving Taiwan, immmigrating to Canada tomorrow, and it's her last night in the country and she wanted to have this, as a memory. And he reaches for her and when the camera gets back to them, some time later, they are both lying on the bed, fully clothed and he just holds her the whole night. Guuuuuh. Shipper rabidness. In a lot of ways, the secondary F4s are a lot more mature and put together then either DMS or Lei. And then he sits at the cafe she used to work at and when his friend calls him to go to a party to pick up women, he refuses. Mmmmmm.
I love DMS coming to SC's house at night (which still has all those lights) and almost ringing the bell but walking away at the last moment. And SC (who was crying and smiling at the same time, when she saw the lights) is awake in bed, and she didn't turn them off but is just looking at them. Also, the only thing more adorable than DMS and SC playing house? The fact that he rents a place next to hers and has to sneak out of his own house to be with her. And the only thing more adorable than that? Him telling her to go to sleep and that he will stay until she falls asleep. I am meeeeelting, meeeelting, like the Wicked Witch....
Oh, and my stupid DVD cut out the scene where they agree he will live next door, or the very first part of SY coming to Shi Mein's room. Did the boot-legger have something against ships, or what? I can't wait to get my legit DVDs.
ETA: and SC and DMS go on a date and he takes her to this fancy restaurant and I love the way he watches her eat like it's the coolest thing he's ever seen and he can't believe his luck (he probably can't :P) and when she asks him to come over so she can cook for him? He grins like a little boy. Of course since we had angst free ten minutes, something horrid is coming up, as his Mother found out what's going on and it looks like his credit cards are all cancelled. But, "I am not lonely now because I have you. All I want is you." Guuuuuh.
ETA2: I am the world's biggest idiot. I kept wondering why the story jump made no sense and I realized that it's because I skipped 2 episodes by mistake. Argh. Maybe the bootlegger isn't so bad after all :) Even if he cut out the SC/DMS scene prior to the rain break-up, it looks like I didn't miss the big get together scene :) Yessss. That means I still have 4 eps of goodness to go.
