Harry and Ginny in HPB

It's about Harry and Ginny and other good things.

In some ways, I think Fleur's statements to Mrs Weasley parallel not just Remus/Tonks situation, but Harry/Ginny.
Granted, in Fleur's case, it's not Bill who is pushing her away (as he is unconscious) but Mrs Weasley is thinking that the girl won't want the man because he is "damaged" (and if he has werewolf characteristics, potentially risky, I'd imagine). And of course Fleur proves that she loves him and doesn't care, which leads to Tonx insisting on the same to Lupin.
Well, Harry's handicaps are much bigger than scars and liking of rare steaks or being an unemployable werewolf. But the whole point is that if a woman loves her SO, she doesn't care about the risks or disadvantages, and it's her choice.
Harry might push Ginny away (in fact, I wouldn't like him half as much if he didn't), but I can't imagine Ginny taking it in stride. She won't push at the funeral or crowd him, because she understands him and she knows peace of mind is what he needs most at the moment, and this is not the time or the place to argue. But I doubt she will be sitting on her hands. She will be doing whatever Harry needs her to do and try to help him at the same time.
Oh, Harry. I find it amazing that after all that has happened and his horrible upbringing he has such a capacity to love: DD, Ron and Hermione, Sirius, Ginny. But I think he is somewhat wary and unbelieving and awfully grateful of receiving it.
I loved H/G in this book. It's quite different from R/H (I can see them bicker and produce a million kids). Harry needs a different relationship. The bickering that R/H take in stride would be so wearying for him. He has enough drama in his life as is, he doesn't need more in a relationship (a big chunk of reason Cho and he didn't work out). He needs someone who really understands him, and Ginny does. He doesn't have to justify himself, or argue, or explain. I love little touches all throughout the book, e.g. when Harry and Ginny are obsessively discussing who poisoned Ron and Hermione is quiet there. Harry and Ginny's methods of dealing with the situation are very similar.
He needs someone emotionally open (after his horrible childhood, I'd imagine), and warm (I.e. a Weasley) and someone with whom things just fit, without angsty nervousness.
In HBP, Harry is never nervous around Ginny, the way he was around Cho. She brings him peace, not freaks him out. There is just such an amazing grown-up maturity to their relationship. It's uncomplicated, but not immature. And that last conversation between Harry and Ginny? Wow. I think I fell a bit in love with them myself. His knowledge of her perfect understanding, and the fact that he is leaving her for her own good and she does not make a scene but understands, and there is still the deep feeling between them. Guuuh.
And there is joking and the fact that she is pretty fearless and utterly open (I love the "hard blazing look" phrase). Ginny is the girl for him because she would never, ever hold him back. They just fit.
Also, I love that Harry has dreams about Ginny that make him grateful that Ron doesn't know leglitimency. :) And their first kiss? Wow. Talk about swoon-worthy. Perfect.
Also, Harry with no family will have a loving warm and huge family in the Weasleys. It should not be like "weeks out of someone else's life." Harry's life should be as good and as warm and as wonderful. It's hearbreaking that he sees anything wonderful as something that has no place in his life. Oh Harry, you deserve good things. And now he has an extra impetus to survive Voldie. He knows he can have happiness afterwards.
I was relatively indifferent to H/G before HBP (though I thought if Harry got together with anyone it would be her), but now, it's my favorite ship of the books.
