I keep trying to pick which dorama to watch next, but when I look at the ones I think would be fun, I don't feel super-enthusiastic somehow.
And then I realized that the reason why I was dissatsfied with my choices was because what I really wanted to watch is Vic Zhou being hot and angsty and awesome.
Of course, that is not super-helpful because if I start Mars I will not emerge for a week, at the end of which you'll find me crying and smiling at the same time with bags under my eyes the size of a small country. And ditto for Meteor Garden though there I am all about Jerry Yan. And most importantly, I've seen both of those repeatedly. There is also Silence but I confess I can't bear to watch the angst, knowing there won't be a happy ending.
And hence my dilemma. Heeeelp, I feel desperate enough to pull out Meteor Garden 2 even though I know it's a Bad. Idea.
But yeah, even though one of the things I love about doramas is the overabundance of gorgeous men, Vic Zhou (or Chou or whichever way you spell it) is still my favorite.

Here is a scene from Love Storm that made me desperate to track it down:
Of course, looking at those pics isn't helping any as it's giving me a mad desire to watch Love Storm. I believe
kitsune714 when she says it's lackluster, but it's Vic...with floppy hair! What can I say, I am amazingly shallow.

I've decided it should be the law that every other drama out there should star either Vic Zhou, Mike He, Jerry Yan, or Joe Cheng. The other half should star Takki, Kame, Kimura Takuya or those Korean guys I've been discovering lately.
In other news, I finished The Duelist and I am obsessed. That scene where Sad Eyes throws away his scabbard because that's something that is used for defense and somewhere you put the sword into once you are done, so he doesn't expect to either defend himself or to ever put the sword back again? Wow.
That final fight between him and Namsoon is the most beautiful thing on film I've ever seen. EVER. And I loved her running into the entertainment district, looking for him, desperate because she wants him to deny he did all those killings and the way he looks at her with that amazing tenderness. Or the last meeting they have prior to the raid where he gives her the Minister's book and he is smiling and it's just...kiss already! But what do you think the ending means? Did he die? Did she? What does the very end at the marketplace mean? And how is it connected to the swordfight? Any thoughts?
I posted a whole bunch of The Duelist images here. Together with Rain, Lee Dong-Wook, and Lee Jun Ki, I now must see everything Kang Don-Won has ever been in. He is just all lithe grace in The Duelist, sort of like (if I felt like being baroque in my descriptions), a fallen angel...
I am actually quite interested in seeing Magic, a dorama he was in, but it's unsubbed. Booo. I do think I'll get my hands on the movie Temptation of Wolves which sounds awesomely angsty-shoujo. Fighting! Star-Crossed Romance! Beutiful Boys! Incestual Love Confessions! Gotta love Korean stuff!

Date: 2006-11-20 04:38 pm (UTC)Every teen movie should have giant marital arts fights and quasi-incest. Freddy Prinze Jr eat your heart out! Though I am beginning to wonder about Koreans fascination with incest. It's a country of 40 million, surely finding a mate who is unrelated to you shouldn't be a problem.

Date: 2006-11-20 06:40 pm (UTC)re Vivian... hahaha... she's actually annoying here in LS. her love for everything pink makes me puke. her voice was irritating. but she's pretty in pictorials/mags. hahaha... not to mention, she's Vanness Wu's ex. well, they didn't admit it.
btw, Ken's the cutest here in LS. the hair's perfect. the body. ah! he's just pure love here. but of course, the bad ass Ying Feung pwned me so i only had eyes on him here. well, Zai's my fave amongst F4! all 3 comes next. :D
