I am going to have proper meta for it and everything, but for now: I am watching first ep of Korean dorama My Girl and IT ROCKS!
I love the madcap heroine Yu-rin (why are kdorama heroines always cheery nutters? Who knows but love it), love the somewhat reserved hero Gong-chan (Lee Dong-Wook? HOT) and am crushing on Lee Jun Ki even though he is prettier than I am (heh, what an intro! Sexy white shirt and stone-washed jeans and running away from his inamorata's bf with a brazen smile. Yay).
This is going to be fun.
But please tell me there will be angst!

Date: 2006-11-09 05:22 am (UTC)It has romance and comedy and slapstick and crying (OH MY GOD, THE CRYING), a love polygon, a crazy tennis ex-girlfriend, zany parents, and OH MY SWEET JESUS IT IS SO SO SO SO GOOD. It lures you in with the funny and then five minutes later, you'll find yourself sobbing, going, "What the hell just happened?"
Lee Dong Wook is not just hot. He is supafine. And I adore Lee Jun Ki, even though he often looks like a woman. His character wins you over big time and oh my god.
I CANNOT CONTAIN MY LOVE FOR THIS DRAMA IN ONE SIMPLE COMMENT.

Date: 2006-11-09 05:27 am (UTC)I watched the ending already btw and OMG. Kissing. And elevators. And references to Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang (I haven't watched DG but I knew that is what the ref was to).
GLEE.
I do hope there is a fair patch of angst! Am reassured on hearing about the sobbing though.
MY GIRL IS MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE KOREAN DRAMA, EVER IN LIFE.
More than Goong?
I love that on paper Yu-Rin could come across as a pushy caricature or whatever but on screen she just comes across as delightful. It's those moments of unguarded vulenrability and just the sheer FUN of her.

Heh. Indeed. I also love his character in this. OMG, when he pries her fingers off with his pen? ROFL.
