I am going to have proper meta for it and everything, but for now: I am watching first ep of Korean dorama My Girl and IT ROCKS!

I love the madcap heroine Yu-rin (why are kdorama heroines always cheery nutters? Who knows but love it), love the somewhat reserved hero Gong-chan (Lee Dong-Wook? HOT) and am crushing on Lee Jun Ki even though he is prettier than I am (heh, what an intro! Sexy white shirt and stone-washed jeans and running away from his inamorata's bf with a brazen smile. Yay).

This is going to be fun.

But please tell me there will be angst!

MY GIRL IS MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE KOREAN DRAMA, EVER IN LIFE.

It has romance and comedy and slapstick and crying (OH MY GOD, THE CRYING), a love polygon, a crazy tennis ex-girlfriend, zany parents, and OH MY SWEET JESUS IT IS SO SO SO SO GOOD. It lures you in with the funny and then five minutes later, you'll find yourself sobbing, going, "What the hell just happened?"

Lee Dong Wook is not just hot. He is supafine. And I adore Lee Jun Ki, even though he often looks like a woman. His character wins you over big time and oh my god.

I CANNOT CONTAIN MY LOVE FOR THIS DRAMA IN ONE SIMPLE COMMENT.

I haven't even finished first ep yet (I am at Yu-Rin gathering organic tangerines stage, heeeee) but am heartened to hear that there will be ANGST and sobbing.

I watched the ending already btw and OMG. Kissing. And elevators. And references to Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang (I haven't watched DG but I knew that is what the ref was to).

GLEE.

I do hope there is a fair patch of angst! Am reassured on hearing about the sobbing though.

More than Goong?

I love that on paper Yu-Rin could come across as a pushy caricature or whatever but on screen she just comes across as delightful. It's those moments of unguarded vulenrability and just the sheer FUN of her.

Lee Dong Wook is not just hot. He is supafine.

Heh. Indeed. I also love his character in this. OMG, when he pries her fingers off with his pen? ROFL.

Goong is a very close (and really, a very, VERY close) second to My Girl. Both of them are awesome for their own reasons but My Girl is, in some ways, better than Goong, probably because the story doesn't drag out as much. Episodes 18-22 of Goong are notoriously difficult to get through because of how frustrating they are, and since My Girl is a few episodes shorter, you don't have that problem, really. Based on the initial plot synopsis, I was prepared to be hideously annoyed by Yu-Rin, but sweet god, I love her. She's terrific. Lee Da Hae is an amazing actress, because I had seen her in Sweet 18 playing the crazy evil bitch, and...yes. She's quite good. And Gong Chan! Eeeeee. I adore him. You will find out why soon.

I know, I am so in love with this, ep and a half in. Yu Rin is adorable. Serious girl-crush territory.

As to Gong-Chan? LOVE.

Dong-wook is gorgeous, but Jun Ki is too pretty for words. >< And there will be much much angst later on, esp from Jun Ki, who's really really pretty and I can't get anough of saying that. ^^;

Anyway, I don't we don't really know each other, but I added you anyway. I hope you don't mind. :)
