Tech help, please!
Oct. 30th, 2006 10:18 amI am being driven crazy by Tatta Hitotsu no Koi ep 2.
Why?
The dls.
I dled from jdramas and joined the file. I have subs saved under same name, in the same directory. Great, right? Not so.
When I try to play it in MPC player, it takes forever to buffer, and then, for some weird reason, it only has the first 11 minutes of the dorama (though I checked the file size, and it adds up to all the parts joined 600+megs). To add insult to injury, I was able to get it to 45 minutes once, on Friday, but no luck again.
When I try playing it on VLC player, it plays just fine, all 45 minutes, but I can't get the subs to work, even by force-starting them. Windows media player won't let me play the file at all and not only do I have no clue how to do subs on RP, the file goes all crazy looking in it.
I tried to torrent the file from d-addicts, to have another copy to maybe have better luck, but it tells me I am not authorized to get this file on this tracker, or something similar.
What the hell am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? I need my angsty Kame fix!

Date: 2006-10-30 03:35 pm (UTC)Step One: Open VLC player.
Step Two: Click FILE >>> Open File
Here, you will see that under the drop down menu where you browse for your video file there is a tiny box that says "subtitle options" - check that, and then click the "Settings" box next to it. The next menu will allow you to load your subtitle file into the player. Then go back and load your video into the player and it will work. I often do this when I am capping dramas if I feel like following along.

Date: 2006-10-30 06:33 pm (UTC)I'd love to get together! Hey, I'm going to see a Bolly film at the Sackler/Freer galleries on Friday:
Umrao Jaan
7 pm, Meyer Auditorium
In Person: Director Muzzafar Ali
Based on a true story, Muzzafar Ali's lush, opulent costume drama stars Rekha as a famous nineteenth-century courtesan longing to escape her claustrophobic existence. Full of rich period detail and gorgeous songs sung by the legendary "playback" singer Ashla Bhosle, this is Bollywood at its romantic best. India / 1981 / 145 min. / Urdu with English subtitles. Cosponsored by the Embassy of India
I imagine you've seen it already...? Are you interested in coming with?
