[livejournal.com profile] rubypurple posted that Nicholas Tse married Celia Cheung. I know who he is, duh. And her name struck a bell so I went to IMDB to confirm, and yes. She was the Princess in The Promise, which I loved and picspammed. You have no idea how gleeful it makes me that the villain and the heroine of the movie hooked up (because, hey, she had a romantic triangle in that movie but it wasn't with him. But he was my favorite character. He was so elegant, offing people with his fans). That's just pricelessly priceless. As long as he doesn't build a giant cage and make her wear feathers.

Heeeee.

Gleeeeeeeee.

And am watching Veronica Mars ep 2 tonight. Seems there is good buzz about it. Yay.

That's cool. Haven't seen Nicholas Tse in anything, but she was good in a couple of subpar movies I've seen, Zu Warriors(avoid unless you've seen the original and know the mythology behind like the back of your hand, otherwise, it won't make sense) and White Dragon(awesome 30 or so minutes where it's literally the Robin Hood: Men in Tights of wuxia films, then it chickens out and loses steam...still fun, though)

I do have The Promise sitting atound, waiting for me to get to it, though.

Oh you MUST watch some films with Nicholas Tse! I recommend Tiramisu which is quirky and lovely.

I'm going to share [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear's Nicholas Tse tag because she can provide way more info than me, but I've seen Tiramisu (which I adore), Goddess of Mercy which is gut-wrenching and good, but um, gut-wrenching (and Vicky Zhao Wei is amazing in it) and Moving Targets which is not a great film at all, but Nic is HOT HOT. So hot that I picspammed him in it here.

He's also in New Police Story which I haven't seen yet, but which is considered to be a really excellent film, and is high on my list of Asian-Cinema-To-Watch-Soon. I also have The Promise sitting at home waiting for me to get to it.

I know this is stupid, but I'm so curious - how did you find [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie, since I only see you hanging out in JE fandom, and she is so far away from that. ;)

Oh good god, there was a point in my life when Me/F4 = Embarrasingly OTP. I actually have their entire back catalogue (along with some rather incriminating DVDs, VCDs, and the like) in a box in a closet somewhere in my parents' house. I mean, I still love them all, but...look, it's not like I was in it for the music, right? XD

You mean there are some people in it for the music? No way :P

Definitely not me.

I second Tiramisu rec. Tiramisu is totally adorable. If very odd.

The Promise is really gorgeous and has fights *pushes*

And I really want to see Chinese Tall Story because it's the same story as Saiyuki only even more on crack.

You should watch The Promise. It's insanely pretty, has cool fights, and Nicholas Tse plays the most awesome villain ever. We were rooting for him :P

I really want to see Bride with the White Hair (talking about wuxia flicks) but it has that annoying long wait at Netflix. Boo.

The Bride with the White Hair is one of my favorite wuxia movies OF ALL TIME. It's actually part of the "Father-Daughter Bonding" Video Collection that my dad and I have at home!

Nic and cecilia married in philippines. :) I'm truly happy for them - since they broke up and got back together. I'm still in daze that he actually tied the knot. He doesn't seem to be the marrying kind. But oh well, who am I to stop his happiness? :)

I've yet to watch The Promise. But [livejournal.com profile] winterspel mentioned the movies I loved as well. :)

I am going to check those movies out.

See, I don't know anything about either of them except for the movies so this was extra amusing :P

Oh god, Nicholas Tse. I haven't fangirled over him in years, probably because I, er, got distracted by other pretty boys. OK, so I was going to see The Promise but then all these people told me it wasn't good at all, and I had no idea Nicholas Tse was in it, and you of all people know that no matter how bad the premise seems or how corny the story sounds, I will see a movie if the cast is made up of good-looking men. So now I have to go see The Promise because I kind of love the idea of real life trumping a movie's love polygon.

Yeah, The Promise is totally flawed but it's gorgeous and the hero is all angsty noble and, best of all, Nicholas Tse plays the most awesome villain in the history of villains. He offs people who have super speed with his fan while managing to maintain his impeccable hair.

Me and my friend walked out of the theater going "Yeah, he is totally evil but...but...but..."

He made the movie :)
